DRFC_Police‏@DRFC_PoliceĀ·20h
@BcfcDotCom @WMPBCFC #DRFC Birmingham City have sold their allocation (1380) and 8 coaches are travelling. 6660 home sales.

So we're looking at a crowd of 8000+. Hopefully there'll be a decent walk-up.

That would be Birmingham's initial allocation?  I guess they will be able to buy on the day for the away end too.  Plus that tweet is 20 hours old (at least) so wouldn't include any sales from yesterday afternoon, nor this mornign over the phone at the TO, nor walk ups today.  Potentially the attendance could reach 9000 with 7500 home fans - or even more.

I've always thought Birmingham City had a bad reputation, as a kid I remember seeing them rioting outside Sheffield station.

I don't think much of fans who directly abuse the opposition supporters. They were chanting something like "you're w**kers, yes you are" this afternoon.

Who the f**k tries getting on the pitch at 1-1 in a game that isn't exactly a massive massive game? nowhere near the end of the game as well. Pillock.

RD do you sit at the back of the East Stand near the Premier area by any chance.  I heard someone sat there say the same thing today.

That'll be me.

I compared them to Millwall, Leeds, Cardiff, Luton. To me they are one of those clubs with dodgy fans.

Not that I think all Birmingham city fans are wrong uns, one of my best friends is a blue nose.

Didn't they invade the pitch a few seasons back at the last game of the season?

Thought they travelled in decent numbers today considering their recent performances, they also made a decent noise during the second half - no doubt encouraged by our defences hospitality.

Their behaviour was very poor though, straight after half time they decided to congregate on the walkway at the front of the stand rather than go back to their seats. This appeared to prompt a wall of stewards in front of them to prevent them encroaching onto the pitch (but the Police remained seated at either side of the stand).
Why they weren't made to return to the seating area is a mystery.

When scuffles broke out as some tried getting over the hoarding onto the pitch, there was without doubt a response from the Brum fans which included punches being rained down on the stewards, even to the point where as a group of stewards were taking a fan out, the fans along the hoarding continued throwing punches at them.

What is worth noting is that the majority of away fans at the keepmoat have praised the realaxed and friendly way our stewards behave - Brum fans pointing the finger at the stewards is way off the mark.

CCTV is an amazing tool nowadays (as a group of errant Millwall fans found to their cost) - I would be very surprised if a few Brum fans don't get an early morning knock at the door in a few days / weeks time.

I've seen a little of Birmingham City and it's not like the Rovers.

I remember being outside a pub with a large contingent of their fans. A couple of coppers walked around the corner and they were immediately met with a hail of bottles and glasses.

I could be wrong about them but it's not a club I have a great affection for.

One of the few groups who have mixed it with millwall on their manor some years ago which ended up with hundreds having running battles around the streets of bermondsey.
Says it all really.

I heard the police  saying that two or three of the stewards were bang out of order and that their fans were fine when the police replaced the stewards- I agree the mystery is why they were allowed to congregate at the bottom and why it took so long for the police to get involved.

I do think the noise they generated helped Birmingham get back in the game though, and of course our mistakes changed the momentum completely
