Michael McIndoe

Hi All,
new to the board so thought I would post on the subject of ex Rovers star McIndoe who it appears has been very busy in recent times!.In 2012 McIndoe came to the attention of the press in the collapse of his investment schemes in what was heavily rumoured to be a 'Ponzi' type scheme. Although he was not criminally charged for any wrongdoing many high profile players and ordinary individuals alike lost money and sought recompense. He and his family were subject to many high profile (some would say villainous) 'money collectors' paying visits to them and their homes and premises and partial collections were made .As the news drifted from the public domain McIndoe continued with his schemes and sought new investors and found them within the football world and extended football world. An investigation was carried out by the compliance officer at William Hills bookmakers in Leamington Spa where it is heavily rumoured that McIndoe invested over £1M of investors cash ,although no criminal wrongdoing could be proved. Leon Best and Carl Baker (wolves and Cov) recently lost sums of money and are actively persuing McIndoe for recompense. Having lived in Belgravia he is rumoured to be now living in Knightsbridge and was recently involved in the the opening of his new nightclub 'Stamp' in central London(yes!...again paid for with investors cash)and was recently removed from the board of the company (Lafayette) and winding up proceedings were brought about by an aggrieved investor culminating in the transfer of McIndoes shares. There is a current civil action brought about by one of our own ex players in league with many other players who are hoping this can culminate in a criminal action against McIndoe. Some you may be pleased to hear that it is heavily rumoured (ahem!)that Leeds United's main man has also lost money but it just seems that McIndoes bandwagon rolls on 2 years down the line from when the story first broke and the story is going to get a lot bigger in the current months with rumours of footballing matters being intertwined with so called investments but we have to wait and see I suppose...lets just say the I have an interest in this matter so I thought I would share it with you all(Him being a DRFC leg and all LOL!).
tata for now!

"Stamp is an exclusive private members nightclub where guests enjoy a holistic entertainment experience within an exquisite and dynamic space in the heart of London, as well as at a number of International events across the globe.

Stamp is a lifestyle, a brand and a social place like no other which caters for its members on a personal level to create ultimate satisfaction.

Stamp accommodates those who are ambitious, hard working and execute their objectives with enthusiasm both at work and at play. Desiring only the very best in service and entertainment, whilst remaining ultra-exclusive yet mysterious for those not in ‘the know’.

Founding members will be hand-selected by Stamp’s in-house membership team. Following this, applications will be taken into consideration."

I'm sure they'll be queueing round the block.

The London private members club scene is something I'll never get my head round. It's massive though if your place becomes "the" place to be. The money slaughtered in west London at night is phenomenal. I've been to three places of note, The Ivy Club, Mahiki and The Playboy Club. Young kids with wealthy parents with unlimited funds and young bankers or footballers. Sadly I'm none of the above but it was an eye opener. They pay thousands for a table for the night just to say they paid thousands for a table.

Hi there mate...no not one of the ex players but my help was enlisted by a close friend of mine! :-). There is something potentially massive that could be linked with this story that could lead to far reaching repercussions within football but because of the legalities involved for this site as a whole we will have to wait and what happens...its funny this members club scene now in London and its very much an Americanism based on minimum spends, magnums of grey goose vodka and gangster rapper style bling.A lot of them are not even real members clubs . Soho House group
(£600 a year as founder member!) , Groucho and Chelsea Arts Club and the likes just charge a yearly which isn't massively over the top for the capital and none of that minimum table spend b*llocks. Before he was booted out of the lovely Stamp nightclub :-) McIndoes projections were based on £2.5K minimum spend per table! lol!

I would have thought with his track record in financial investment a mcindoe projection would be treated with a degree of caution..lol

Very interesting, how far up the football pyramid does this go?
Is any of this related to match fixing?
Just how massive could this potentially be?

He now plays in my football League in London, Middlesex County Division 1.... talk about coming down in the world! Still a bloody good player mind, ripped us to shreds when we played him.

Dead simple. Tax the Kitsons at 99% and put the money to good use for society.

He should be unplayable in that league. Never had a great love for him personally. Great player mind you.

Never saw that, he used to watch the reserve games and sign anything put in front of him.
Seemed a nice fella.

I knew he was on the run, but wow. Dodgy dealings.

I know he's getting on a bit, but the rumour was he could still do a job in league 2 but if he appeared for a club for more than a few times those he owed would get wind of him and kneecap him.

That description of Stamps that you copied over Col makes it sound like a high class knocking shop.

I've seen MM around Soho area twice in the last year. He looked like he was involved with property but when I saw him more at the building end than the investment bit. Your piece explains why he seemed so jumpy when I stopped him in Soho Square. Took him a few seconds to realise I was just recognising him as a great left winger than serving him with a writ. He was fine, we shook hands, but my god was he nervy.

i shared a 'box' with him once at OBV,   he was one of the most genuine down to earth folk ive ever come across... talked about coming top of the apta stats and the work that had gone into it , number of pro's making a living out of the game and how he was proud to be part of it. etc...    seemed very humble at the time....

Sorry about the time delay in replying ...work and life issues and all that! lol!. There are some hefty allegations behind the scenes which have not been fully substantiated as of yet so it wouldn't be in my or the boards interests to talk about the matter fully as of yet ,but one thing is for certain is the investigation carried out by the compliance team at William Hills in to McIndoes spending in the Leamington Spa branch which was rumoured to be over £1M in a relatively short space of time .No wrongdoing could be proven though and of course as a bookmakers they like to take peoples money money and lots of it!. the so far unproven allegations and I cant really go in to it fully as of yet relate to our beautiful game, footballers in a corner and the above company so I will leave you all to draw your own conclusions from that. One thing I will say though is that there were two high profile clubs relegated in a short space of time over the last few years and it could be said that there could be a link between some of the 'investors' and these clubs...
going back to the members club scene in London , there used to be only  a handful a few years ago where the criteria for gaining entry and membership used to be almost on lockdown but now every corner where where you see a bit of rope and a couple of Russian doormen seems to be a members club ! the sad legacy of the 'gangster rapper' generation and young un's today. inside some of these gaffs the higher the platform you're on,the bigger the table or thicker the rope, the more people are charged and the bigger the minimum spend is.The wannabe 'TOWIE' types love it. one rule of thumb I suppose is that the genuine and established members clubs don't have all the minimum spend and roped off table b*llocks but a yearly subscription and thoroughly complex acceptance and vetting process but once you're in you're in and you can spend as little or as much as you like on top(bar spend etc) . The better places tend to put you in the company of people who are genuinely interesting (writers ,film producers ,general eccentrics and oddballs ,but people with something to say) instead of Andy Carroll and that bird from TOWIE or f**king Rizzle Kicks ! lol!...

Have to say he seemed very nice apart from his twitchiness. My youngest lad when he was a nipper was a DRFC mascot years ago at the Oxford away game and particularly remember MM being brilliant with him. He might have a darker side from whats been said here.

I believe the FA ratified a ban on football gambling for anyone working in the top 8 tiers of English football yesterday.

You're right Rob and a long time overdue too... it maybe too little too late to help with the way I amongst others feel about modern day players and the modern day game but it may help the younger generation of fans coming through to be part of the beautiful game less a slice or two of the greed and corruption of some players and clubs alike

McIndoe's current team by the way is London Elite FC who are based in Hertford (evidently so elite, they're not even in London). They play in Division One Central & East of the Middlesex County League.

Like Stamp's they also have an interesting 'mission'; "To seek excellence and integrity in all actions and compassion and love in all relations."

dn: that's an awful lot of innuendo you've spread through this thread. we all know of various allegations that have swirled around Michael McIndoe over recent years. But right now, this thread looks like muck raking.

I'm not saying you are wrong - or right either.  But I am questioning your timing. If there is substance to what you imply, why not wait until you can give a bit of detail? Right now it looks like personal animosity, libel and a scatter gun.

Sorry. But on a subject as important as this, I suggest people really do have to think hard before diving in.

This thread is, in my opinion, bordering on defamation. Locked for that reason alone.
