Terry and Dick

Before the madness of the next few weeks really kicks in tomorrow I thought it only right to thank the above two gents for their contribution to the club and congratulate them on the successes they have had in their time at the club.

Whatever your views about JR and their relationship with him they came in at a time to help him and the club out, backed us financially, managed the situation with dignity and integrity and made us sustainable as a business. All this with little or no personal gain.

From me it's a big thanks.

Of course they deserve a massive vote of thanks. Without them we wouldn't have had the financial stability whilst achieving the on the field success we've had.

It's a serious pity that the detractors chose to make them so unwelcome. Certain supporters kept insisting they were only here to capitalise on the stadium and the land that surrounded it. So, now they are virtually gifting the club what happened to their ulterior motives?

Thinking about that they deserve more than a vote of thanks. I'm sure we can think of something.

Edit. I do hope Dicks operation was successful and that he's recovering well.

It's a big thankyou from me, don't know where we would be today without their input, & I am sure they would have made certain everything was going to be financially ok before passing the club over to someone else, all the very best to them both.

Some of us just didn't recognise how lucky we were. A huge thank you to both of them .
Regaining Championship status ( tier 2 ) was very much down to these fellas and I won't forget that.

Yes another thanks from me. I think the fact that they have acted with integrity previously, and constantly proved that they have the best interests of the club at heart, is the main reason I am sure the new set up is good for the club.

Terry and Dick put a massive amount of money into Rovers even though initially they were not big footie people, because they made their fortunes in Donny and wanted to put smiles on the faces of the town. That sounds saccharine but basically it's true.

Without their guidance and steady hands on the tiller, we'd have not had the great ride of the last eight years or so.

And they acted with class, despite of all of the shit, the banners, the smear campaigns and utter farce at times. They simply rose above it.

Same here - lots tend to forget that they were actually around plugging the gaps.  They did a great job last season too when JR left of putting together extra faces in January in an attempt to stay up

Thank you both. You came into our club and alongside JR took us to a level I had previously only dreamt about. I particularly appreciated the quiet, unassuming way you went about your business and the professionalism and integrity you showed in what were very challenging circumstances last season.

I truly hope that the club can carry on with the same values at the forefront of the operation. Success is what we all want but everyone has a different idea what success actually is. What Terry and Dick and Gavin were building was, for me, a successful club on and off the pitch and one which recognised the purpose and value to a community of a successful football club.  Let's hope that does not get overlooked in the rush for purely on pitch success.
