SOBER FOR OCTOBER
« on September 27, 2014, 03:24:04 pm by Al4475 »
Signed up for this a while back - a very worthwhile cause and one that as anyone who knows me will testify will be a helluva challenge for me as I do tend to have a pint or two most (if not every day.

Folks, please sponsor me if you can spare a bit for this - it's going to be very very tough!

How you getting on with this Al? I decided to do it just as a challenge to myself rather than to raise money, was doing fine the first couple of weeks as I was off work but since starting back the stress has left me craving a beer nearly every night! Only just over a week to go...

Doing well dave - only drawback is that becks blue and bavaria 0% are as expensive as the real stuff! Lol!

To be fair knockers I checked with the wife and she thought becks blue and bavaria 0% qualified as opposed to say a shandy mixed with bitter - so if she says it was good enough so be it! Haha!

Well done so far Al. We do it in January but always have a night off for Scraggsy's birthday.

Well I did it, and I didn't cheat by having 0% beer either :P

Unless (diet) coke counts as alcohol free vodka and coke?

Just enjoyed a pint of old peculiar at the mason's arms to usher in november! If nothing else, october has shown me simply how much a habit my drinking is! Haven't missed it - am chuffed with myself and have lost a bit of weight - just need to make sure I don't slip straight back into the old routine now which is real easy to do!

Never quite got this... Think it says a lot for culture when people celebrate being able to get through a month without a drink! Sorry Al & Dave!

Never had a drop of Alcohol from 26th December 2013 until 5th August 2014, then had a drink every night for a week and then nothing since, my next pint will be on 8th November 2014 and I will be partaking for another week :)

Am I binge drinker? :)

Just a quick update.
November began well. Woke up with a hangover, but soon put that to bed.
Disappointed with myself today, began the day strong with a few riojas, then slipped onto coffee before making a bit of a comeback.
