Surely we will bring in a loan CB now?

It sounds like a minor "wear and tear" job, although there's always the chance the surgeon may find something more serious (eg ligament damage) when he goes in. Doesn't sound like a retirement issue to me.

As for a loan CB, I agree, but now wouldn't seem a good time to bring one in. After Saturday we don't play in the League for a fortnight, so better to bring one in then who would then be playing Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday.

I'm guessing that the "pack will be shuffled" for the JPT game and a few of the young lads will get a go.

Wouldn't the two week break be ideal to get a new CB working well with the rest of the defence?

Not when the main CB is on international duty.

Yes- haven't you heard? Gary Cahill's done his hammy, Jagielka's got man flu, JT won't come out of retirement and when Woy thumbed through his book of names the next one was McCombe.

Mind you, I doubt the San Marino forwards would give him anything like the problems the Walsall ones did.
