Smoke flares. Enough is enough.

I was sat in row k today in the end of the stand where the smoke flare was set off.

These things create a visual spectacle, I get that.

BUT and it's a massive BUT.

Shortly after it was let off I saw one retired lady and a number of children having to leave, in tears and some medics had to go to someone who was clearly struggling to breathe.

These people are our own. They are rovers supporters. Should we really be doing this. It happened at Lincoln and now today.

Someone will know who is responsible. I'm not interested in a witch hunt. Just have a word please. No more flares please at rovers games. Especially not in an enclosed tin shed like the one at scunny. Not big, not clever, not healthy.

I suspect the scuffle at the scunny end was as a result of one of theirs doing the same and it not going down too well.

If someone let one off next to me, expect to be frog marched to the nearest steward or cop. There were a lot of rovers near me of the same opinion.

Agreed. It's not the way forward. Having said that DRFC are on the FA's watch list and we are very close to having sanctions taken against us for this very reason..

Brentford last year was a classic example, let off in a confined area looks good from a distance but for someone like me who has asthma an absolute nightmare and it was only a couple of yards from where I was stood.

You're right they do add to the atmosphere - carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide, sulphur dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, smoke particles, all sorts of carcinogens and irritants.

Treating that as a genuine comment I don't see how they do. I'm sure they may look good but that one yesterday disrupted the atmosphere did it not? People stopped singing to observe it, people stopped singing to get away from the smoke, people stopped singing when the paramedics had to come in. I just don't see it myself.

When some of them grow up, they themselves might get a lung condition such as asthma or COPD, I wonder if they'll think it's cool then, and I wonder if they'll expect sympathy from the younger generation?

Its bloody dangerous and it doesn't make it right that your lot had less than them.
Its a twisted logic and doesn't excuse the fact that NO fecker should be setting these off......they have no place in the game end of 
If folk want to add to the atmosphere then try watching and singing rather than disrupting the natural flow of the game and the way both sets of supporters interact.
This is not the 70's , I like many on here remember trying to impress the oppo fans but rarely did it result in anything more than a busted lip a minor kicking or the loss of your scarf taken from your wrist. These things are dangerous fireworks complete with dangerous chemicals .......how can they ever be justified ?
