I think I'm going to have to revise my strategy of answering every single question ever thrown at me. It has become apparent that there are some people on the forum that have very offensive and out of date views on what is deemed acceptable language. Any gay person reading the above comment would be deeply offended. Luckily I am thick skinned and can take anything that is thrown at me. You should see some of the stuff Billy has said about me.

I would ask Iberian homophobic Red to remove his comment and issue an immediate abject apology. Failing that I would ask the mods to remove it for him. I believe in free speech and would be quite happy to see the comment remain because it shows the poster in a very bad light which is what he deserves. However I have to think of the greater good and insulting gay people is not acceptable in this day and age. Live and let live I say.

My post was in no means an attempt at insulting any members of the gay community.
However I do appear to have offended one. You have my apologies.

I'd like to point a couple of things out to the poster;
A) the accusation of being homophobic is spurious/libellous.

B) I really don't want to question your sexuality,but must advise you on your naivety that this practice is not exclusive to men.

Anyway, back to the strikes. Today tens of thousands of people have marched in London, Glasgow and Belfast, calling for pay increases and an end to austerity measures. I understand their frustration but would like to ask them a simple question. Where are we going to get the money to pay for this?

No-one seems to be addressing this issue. Our national debt has doubled in the last 5 years and we are still borrowing huge amounts every year. Putting it simply, we are living way beyond our means. It's time the politicians were honest with the public sector workers and told them the truth. You are going to have to get used to your pay being cut in real terms for many years. Giving you proper pay rises every year would increase our debt even more and eventually we'd have total financial meltdown.

I know its not what you want to hear but its the truth. Blame Labour for trashing the economy. Its going to be at least 10 years before we can get back to 'normal'. Thats as long as we don't have a Labour government during this time. You have been warned.

Are you serious? In your world the coalition should take responsibility for the mess they've been handed from day one. I've got news for you. Its going to take more than a decade to put things right. The coalition are doing a brilliant job so far.

I'd be grateful if you could explain what you mean by the aquisition of being homophobic is spurious/libelous. I'd get that changed to 'accusation' quickly before anyone notices if I were you. pmsl.
