Would have gone 4th that night I think, if Rangel hadn't equalised in injury time.

That was the end of the very best period of football I've seen at the Rovers. By Autumn 2010, O'Driscoll had loosened the reins. It wasn't all about possession. It was also about taking a chance, hitting the opposition fast and hard. At times in Autumn 2010, we were nigh in unplayable. How quickly it fell apart. Hey ho.

Mem'ries,
Light the corners of my mind
 Misty water-colored memories
 Of the way we were
 Scattered pictures,
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
 For the way we were
Can it be that it was all so simple then?
Or has time re-written every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me, would we? Could we?
Mem'ries, may be beautiful and yet
 What's too painful to remember
 We simply choose to forget
 So it's the laughter
 We will remember
 Whenever we remember...
 The way we were...
 The way we were...

Remember it well. Tickets £10, record home attendance, cracking atmosphere, Sinclair and Dyer in Dumbaya's pocket. Was very nearly a perfect night. JR was right though what he said back then, it wasn't sustainable.

In 2010 we were achieving our potential, the attendances were growing and we were flying. Now we are bottom end of league 1 and MASSIVELY underachieving.

What are the board doing about it? I don't know. But it appears from the outside its f**k all. It doesn't help with the deafening silence from the board room.
How about a statement outlining their SPECIFIC aims?

Boomstick.

Against what datum do you conclude that our attendances were growing in 2010?

Given what the league performance was like in late 2010, our attendances were dreadful. Typically, fewer than 9,000 home fans per game, other than for a couple of derbies and a reduced price game against Swansea.

I remember it well. Dyer was subbed off at half time as he just couldnt get into the game. Were were battering them at their own brand of football. Horrible equalizer and ruined the mood coming out the ground but I remember being pretty proud of how our team were playing football that didnt get as much national/media recognition as it deserved.

I remember SOD having a right go at sulli on the pitch for letting their equaliser in as well

They were the days when I enjoy going a lot more and knew we'd give it a go against who ever we played and had a team who could compete as well

I'd say we have a squad on paper which is massively under achieving this season

Not sure I agree with the massively under achieving bit mate, until a couple of weeks ago as a squad very short on cover, which players give you the impression we should be doing far better?

Nothing to do with the current crop, I'm going on a club as a whole.

Boomstick if you are talking about the club as a whole and not just the current team, then you need to compare where we are now to where we have been before.  And I don't just mean in very recent years.

As argued before, lower/mid division 3 is about average for us, so anything more and we are doing better.  I believe we should be doing better, and getting our average position higher.

The current squad you could argue is under-achieving so far, but is a work in progress.  Get some consistency and decent home form and we will become very competitive.

A bit harsh on the current regime to pick a game so early in the season. Look at the top of the Championship now, half those teams won't be anywhere near there come what May. Every club could pick a part of the early season where they're nearly the top.

Precisely JD.

Two seasons ago Tranmere and Notts Co were out in front of the rest of league 1 for a few months early in the season.  They both faded that season...

Crikey Jim!  I remember the days when any attendance, any, at even the lowest of those figures since 2004 would have been seen as an absolutely monster crowd. We could go year in year out, for a good number of years and see nothing much above 4,000 as the biggest gate of the season. There ain't half some unrealistic expectations around this board.....
