Given his gambling problems before he joined us , i can't believe people fell for it.

I wondered what had happened to this case, but I can see that they have had there hands full investigating all this lot.

What a shame.... A talent that has sadly and likely gone wrong. What's this about a charge of GBH in Doncaster in November 2014? Anyone heard anything about that?????

Worth a punt?

A punt like this...

Quote
His largest stake was £15,000 on Inter Milan to beat Bari and Crawley to beat Kettering on February 3, 2011. He lost the bet because Crawley and Kettering drew

Quote
Other heavy losses included £13,000 predicting Chesterfield would win at Stockport on February 1, 2011. The game ended a 1-1 draw.

What a terrible story. We all knew there was trouble before and after his stay with us, but it appears ten times worse than anyone imagined. What an absolute fool.

Massive shame for all the other players / investors he suckered in to it.

I remember he attended a pre season friendly of ours a few years back, but it was clarified that he was there as a guest of JR rather than as a prospective signing. With hindsight I wonder if it was more of a sales visit on MM's part.

A real shame as it seemed he'd buried his past issues when he played here. And he was great to watch.

Never had a bad game. Never injured. Scored more from midfield than our strikers. Immense player.

How very, very sad.

He came to the Rovers as a troubled soul, with a background of problems arising from his obsessive, destructive, addictive personality.

The club put an arm around him, helped him to pay off some significant debts, got him back on the 'straight and narrow' and gave him a stage on which to display his wonderful footballing talents.

His years at the Rovers were probably the best years of his life.

I have a framed, signed, Macca shirt on the wall of my upstairs study (posh name for junk-room) which my brother got me for my 50th birthday.
It is my pride and joy.
You would not believe the trouble my brother went through to get this shirt.

Macca left us to join Bristol City in the middle of my bruv's efforts to obtain a signed shirt from my favourite Rovers player.
Undeterred, he tracked Macca down at Bristol, sent him the shirt, and Macca duly obliged by signing it with a personal birthday message for me and returning it to my brother.

I often look at it with pride and affection; a wonderful souvenir of one of the most amazing players I have ever been lucky enough to see in a Rovers shirt during my 47 years as a fan.

That's how I want to remember Macca.

How very, very sad.

Sad?
Infanticide is sad and horrific. Natural disasters are sad and horrendous.
Footballers, earning more than most ever will, isn't sad. It's criminal.

Yes, it is criminal.

It is also sad, because gambling addiction is an illness that can ruin a life.

Being in my 20s and starting to watch us in the 90s there are few stars who have stood out. But McIndoe was, and remains the best I've seen in the hoops.

Shame its all turned sour in the end for him. Would he have gotten this greedy if he never entered football in the first place? You have to wonder...

I think this is a tragic story. It's tragic for everyone. For those that lost money. For those that have to pick up the pieces. For Macca's family. And for Macca. I feel very sorry for him, and his victims. This will blight Macca's life now to his dying day. He could easily end up spurned by family, women and work. He may have brought it on himself and so not be worth worrying about, but my belief is that he is sick. I have a horrible feeling we've not heard the last of Michael McIndoe. Just where will he be in 5 years time? That's a scary thought right now.

Oldest trick in the book for these pyramid sellers by going bankrupt and discharging the responcibility of paying back...Of course they don't stash anything away till things quieten down do they?? If any of you think he doesn't know exactly what he's doing your living on planet cheese....
