Does anyone know if you have to take some form of training/test to obtain a digi tacho card?

Depends on when you passed your driving test mate. I got mine 5 years ago and had Grandfather rights to enable me to drive anything up to 7.5tonnes. Anything over that will need me to go through a training scheme and take a test.

Can't remember the exact dates but I passed my test in 1991.

I've got Grandfather rights, passed my test in 1980, I've got C1 and C1E on my licence

Should just be a case of just applying for one. However most places would probably have you do a driving asessment before letting you out on the road

Yes..and what a rip off that is.

How you can qualify for one by doing the same module 5 times or 5 different ones is beyond me. But the Govt. says that what you have to do, so mopre of your hard earned has to be handed over just to be able to keep doing your own job.

Oh and refreshers every 5 years too

So how do you get the required 35 hours in if you are jus starting out, or going self employed?
