M62

Any regular commuters know of roadworks on the M62 for tomorrow, I have the day off tomorrow and providing it's pay on the day at Preston, I think I'll have a shoot over

Lots of them - there is a 50 mph zone between Castleford and Rothwell and then another 50mph zone from the Oldham exit of the M60 right through to coming off at the M61. The Castleford stretch isn't too bad on an evening but the Manchester stretch is hell.

Theres the usual 2 spells of 50mph which goes on forever near Rochdale.

Usual problem is they shut the motorway on a night but Ive not heard out at the moment mate.

There doesn't appear to be any night closures on the M62, this is what comes up for the M60 and I believe it wouldn't effect anyone travelling from the East as the closure is anti clockwise.

03/03/15   1 night   Closure of A580 link to M60 anti-clockwise. See Diversion Route E.   1 hour for your journey

03/03/15   1 night   Closure of M60 junction 17 to M60 junction 13 anti-clockwise. See Diversion Route F for Southbound traffic. Diversion Route G for Junction 16.   Up to 1 hour for your journey

Are they East and West bound?

If you are talking about the "Average Speed" cameras, they are going to be a permanent fixture on all motorways, and they will be continuously switched on, even today, just not set at 50mph, 74 mph to be precise.

Just heading back from Bolton now. As others have said, the 50mph zone is gone from Rothwell but expect to be crawling from around j21 Milnrow/Shaw right until you exit the m60 for the m61. Add at least half hour to your journey time.
Thatsaid I'm still tempted, how much is it on the gate tonight?

I was surprised to see that the coaches aren't leaving the Keepmoat until 5pm... I was concerned about not being able to leave work in Leeds until 5pm. Made me relax a little more.

Wild Rover they are the average speed cameras for roadworks (actually all have signs stating camera not in use), believe that is planned to be a managed motorway with cameras mounted on rear of matrix signs -

Just seen that Bolton are at home tonight too, hopefully the slighter later kick off won't cause any traffic problems on the M61 too.

Hi everyone

As I use the M62 each week just a gentle reminder

I can't get tonight but for anyone using the M62....The 50mph average speed cameras are working so watch your speed...also a lot of the finished motorway is usually on 60 mph..BUT BE CAREFUL as they change the signs from 60 to 50 mph on a regular basis..so you could be travelling at 60 and suddenly it's 50..and sometimes even 40.

Spent Billions I would imagine making this 4 lanes and stiil can't go above 60 most days.

ALL THE CAMERAS ARE WORKING

To be honest, I was going to go alone, but all snotted up and sore throat, and the potential hold ups on the motorway have put me off a bit

If you want a lift Filo, I'm going on my own in car. I'll be leaving Scunthorpe about 4pm,
