Generating good publicity for the club or should he man up and put some money in?

Discuss.

Good publicity in my opinion but wouldn't write him off from being involved in the future!

Selling thousands of Rovers shirts around the world over the last season or so can't be a bad thing, can it?

Music is crap but he is a Donny lad so who on here wouldn't do the same if they were a global superstar?

Chris, If I had millions I'd be looking to pump it directly into the transfer funds. The other investors would probably have to reign me in. I wouldn't be looking to get myself on TV every time Doncaster Rovers is mentioned. Publicity is one thing, but in the cold hard world of football we need long term financial solutions.

I cant understand why everyones getting upset with this..Personally I wouldn't open my bedroom window if he was singing on my Patio, but he his high profile, who is also a big fan just like us,who has spent his time on the terraces before fame beckoned and anything that raises our profile, sells a shirt or 3 or gets people interested in us has to be a good thing surely???
I get more upset when I hear the media talking about them as a band!!!! They cant play a bloody recorder!!!!

Most Doncaster folk just like to moan and complainabout anything to do with Donny, there must be something in the groundwater or something

Is anyone getting upset? I've looked back at the thread and I'm struggling to find anyone who is.

I'll admit I don't care for 1Ds music, but Louis seems a decent enough lad and a genuine fan. I thought the whole item was positive and showed the club in a good light. It was nice to see some publicly given to someone who works hard behind the scenes. Well done to Louis for making her day.

It would have been nice to see a couple of players, but I wonder if they are training today. Tuesday tends to be a  "working day" but maybe because there's no game till Saturday they are doing more work later in the week.

Ok, Ive not seen what he has done. I will try and catch up later.

However, maybe we should get him on the case next time Sky Bet (or whoever it is), offer the 250k towards a player fund.

Exactly, what has he done? I think that is the question some cynical people like me ask.

CIM

For the club or in general bud?

For the club he's generally spoken about us in public nicely!

The two or three guest appearances he's made for reserves and the Legends game have got a few more bums on seats and cash in the coffers than would've been there!

He admitted he had been lied to in the midst of the takeover saga the other year tho! Which is a bit more negative! LOL

In general - he's somehow dropped on his feet to become one of the most recognisable young men on the planet! Fair play to him I say!

He seems to champion Doncaster in his interviews which is no bad thing compared to what a couple of other local celebrities have been known to say about the town.

I ain't a 1D fan - but to be fair you can't fault him! Haha!

Al, I aint denying any of that. Wonderful, he's touched the hearts of the laundry ladies and sold a few shirts to Mexican teenagers.

But until he does an Elton or a Delia I will reserve judgement. In the same way it's really difficult to get sentimental about players who take a big wage and who are then gone a year later, I'm not going to get sentimental about Tomlinson being the public face of Doncaster Rovers.

Cold hard capital is what we need. Leave the public image to people like Murrant whose a professional at it.

I bet he reads this forum coz he's  a Rovers fan like all of us.
What he chooses to do with his money is up to him. Good luck to the lad.

The lad was interviewed, praised the Rovers and said how much he thought of the club. Not really sure why anyone would not see the positives in that video.

Does anyone KNOW how much the lad is worth?
He's in a very successful Boy Band who make millions .......... for their management company but how much do they actually make for themselves?
Be happy that he promotes the Rovers to millions, even though the vast majority are very young girls and hopefully helps sell a lot of shirts
