Positives
« on August 08, 2015, 06:37:12 pm by Copps is Magic »
OK I need to look at the positives to calm myself down.

Williams - movement looked very good at times.
Stuckmann - It will take a very good shot to beat this guy
In the air - defensively anything in the air we dealt with pretty well but we won very few second balls in midfield and hoofed it too much.
Attacking play - we did occasionally break into the box and had some 50/50 penalty shouts.

Any more? Cheer me up please.

Thought Tyson looked good when he came on and should start on Thursday.

ATS equally looked good at LB

Dickov definitely picked the better striker between Williams and Pope

Agreed. There are plenty of positives and the side is better than what we had last year. That does excite me.

Absolutely correct. Let's hope he learns how to use him.

All the lads looked really fit and up for the battle.
It was a very physical game and we equipped ourselves very well.
I do t see us being bullied out of games this season.

Did he pick or did Pope choose?

Middletons performance again shows he deserves to be the first midfielder down on dickovs teamsheet on current form

Jones rolled back the years and did well.
Middleton looked good when he came on.
Chaplow did ok but has been out due injury.
Evina looked like he wanted to run which scared them well worth a run with 5 in midfield

As said if not for struckman we would have lost that game.

Taylor sinclar did some nice stuff and can give a tackle.

Williams showed he doesnt always need it played to feet.

Williams looks the part but he desperately needs someone to get in behind, which leads to another negative. He looked a very frustrated young man when he was subbed.

Chaplow very intelligent player but played in the wrong slot.

Stuckman a million miles better than last seasons offering.

Jones had a blinder.

That's about it.

A word of advice for PD - drop this incessant use of 442, unless you get the players who can fit in.

Was it Norwich who got splattered at home by the East Anglian giants Colchester United 1-7 on the opening day a few Seasons ago ?

They then went on to get promoted easily I seem to think - The Canaries that is !

They fired their manager and hired Colchester's - Paul Lambert. If you can't beat 'em...

It just needs tweaking system wise and one or two players need a rocket up their arses. High time Wellens sorted himself out .....OK he's been good but now he looks like a journeyman topping up his pension pot.

We need to play 3-5-2, 4-4-2 doesn't work with the players we've got. The Midfield needs to both protect the defence and feed our strikeforce.

I know we did not. I was trying to bring some balance to the comment on Sheff U

We have a stronger squad of players than last season. We still need a couple( right back and midfield). The right man should be able to get us in the play offs.
