Ball Boys?

I didn't see any today and so much time was wasted in retrieving the ball, which didn't help the team to get any tempo going. 

Whatever happened to the multi ball system which was a big factor in our success when we played at Belle Vue and enabled Dave Penney's teams to play a high tempo game.

Only one ball boy/girl in each half and, as always, they didn't look interested in doing what they were there to do. Why we can't let the kids do it and have them all around the pitch like they did way back is beyond me.

There were two ball boys along the east stand and one at the south/east corner. All three looked under ten (I could be wrong), but they certainly didn't looking old enough to cope with a ball in the face.

The young girl in the South East corner looked interested and keen to get the ball back quickly

On page 8 of the Matchday Programme there is a list of changes to "improve on everything we do" one point being 'CD Foundation now providing matchday ball boys'. Mind you, another stated improvement is "Improved food & beverage offerings on the concourse..." That's as long as you don't want a pint at half time with one bar open on the West Stand concourse, two tills open & one manned by what can only be kindly described as a trainee.

Maybe the ball boys were doubling up with working in the catering outlets on the concourses ;-)
