Great result against a club that are doing well on the youth side of the things, they are still ahead of us, but this game shows we are catching up a bit.

Not sure they're ahead of us which is why they're recruiting so many young players on loan as they haven't managed to produce their own

I think it's difficult to argue that their youth system hasn't produced better quality than ours the past few years given they have produced Stones and Holgate and we've had Alex Peterson and Jordan Ball come through. The number of young lads in and around the squad now though does seem encouraging so hopefully a few years down the line we will be in a much better position.

Yet another ridiculous dickos post.
What about Mason Holgate? Sold to Everton this year. Brought up through the Barnsley youth scheme. Incidentally he is from Doncaster.

The quality is obviously improving with results like this, plus we have had youth players coming in, though not quite ready to play every week, are capable of doing a good job when needed.
