Great TV programmes that should be repeated......
« on November 08, 2015, 10:55:35 pm by Bentley Bullet »
 Brass, starring Timothy West. Dead funny it was. I wonder why some programmes are repeated more than others?

What would you like to see again?

I'd vote for that one Bob, superb telly.

Would also love to see The Six Wives of Henry VIII and Elizabeth R shown again. And The Prisoner, of course!

Secret Army

You could say it was a serious version of Allo Allo, but this preceded the comedy by a decade!

Few examples of cartoon epics from my youth: ulysses 31, battle of the planets, mysterious cities of gold and dogtanian and the three muskerhounds - epics as a kid (probably really naff in all fairness! More serious kinda grown up stiff, airwolf, blue thunder, streethawk and the equalizer!

Double Deckers,  I doubt it will ever be shown again there's some sort block on it being on TV again. Melvyn Hayes wrote it,Brinsley Ford  ( Aswad ) and Peter Firth were all in it

I bet there's hardly anyone remembers an ancient black and white version of Robinson Crusoe. I think it was an overseas series that had been dubbed. The remarkable thing about it was the most amazingly haunting theme tune I've ever heard. I live in hope that I'll hear it again before I pop my clogs. It must date from the 60's or even earlier. It was repeated a few times on BBC when I was a boy but I've not seen sight nor sound of it for decades now. Anyone else remember ever seeing it?

Smiley's People is a good choice too Gloster.

University of YouTube has a raft of nostalgia TV for the emotionally retro.

David Hoffman in 1964 B+W as Robinson Crusoe, Bob G.

Here is the opening part of episode 1, the shipwreck;
Robinson Crusoe Episode 1 Part 1of 3 inc intro Original 1964 - YouTube

Looks like all the others are there on Richie Wilbey's YT video channel.

Sometimes this old retro stuff looks naff when you see it again. A bit like playing music you loved way back when, but have not played for years.

Ps. Four Feather Falls is on YT too, for the memories.

I remember Robinson Crusoe as well, not forgetting the "white horses" dumbed TV programme that use to run every summer school holidays in the 60's. TV at its 60's best!
