Brendan O'Callaghan

Played for both us and Stoke during his career. I know the club often like to bring back former players has guests for certain games. He was always my mums favourite player. Would be great to see 'Bring Bren' at the Keepmoat on Saturday.

He has done local commentary for Stoke in the past so might be there with them.
What would be nice would be if Peter Kitchen was there as well. It would be even better if Ian Miller turned up to join them.

The only two others I can come up with after a short search are Wayne Thomas who played for us in the Championship in 2010-11 after previously making 189 league appearances for Stoke, and Bob Meadows, a Rovers fullback of the 1960's who had previously been at Stoke, but not made a first team appearance there.

Jon Parkin
Andy Griffin

I resign  :chair:

Confession time...Although I thought John Flowers came from Stoke, I googled him to check. On doing this I discovered Parkin and Griffin had played for both clubs also, both of whom I had no idea!

You're still number one Dutch!

Cheers BB, but to be absolutely clear Tony Bluff and Barry Watson are definitely number 1, followed by our own Red Baron. I just have a lot of fun.

Would be great to see he & Kitch together again, I was devastated when that partnership was broke up.

Kitch is skiing in Italy at the moment, so a reunion is unlikely. Look him up on Facebook if you do it.

On the football league Show it said Jay Simpson was the first orient player to get twenty goals in a season, since Peter Kitchen.
How i wish the club had noticed, like i did that he was a free agent, after playing abroad, gutted we could have had a right free transfer there.

We signed striker John Nibloe from Stoke in the 60's, anyone else on here old enough to remember him.

I don't remember him but I do recall he was killed in a car accident. I think he'd left us by then and was playing for Stockport County.

I remember him well. Centre forward blond hair and eyes a bit like Willie Nimmo.
I think that he was still doing his national service when we signed him.

Going back to the 1930's :

Hugh McMahon , defender played 8 times for Stoke 1931-32 and just 5 games for Rovers in 1936-37 before  returning to his native Scotland and Albion Rovers

If all the Stoke player's wore their home kit & lay horizontally, we'd both have the same kits!!

Miller.................skins his man down the right. Puts in a lovely cross in for O'Callaghan. He nods it down............and there's Kitchen to stab it over the line. Goal!!!

Classic wing play. Classic centre forward play................and classic goal poaching. Oh my days!!!!
