Stoke fan in peace
« on January 07, 2016, 09:03:08 pm by StaffPotter »
Hi all,

Just like to say looking forward to visiting Saturday should be a great atmosphere as we have sold out and I am lead to believe you have!?

Romance of the cup isn't dead and I am sure it will be a great game. You are doing well in the league and I'm not expecting a easy game at all and Hughes will rightly start a decent side!

Good luck for the rest of the season!

P.S any recommendations of bars to hit later on is much appreciated as we are making a night of it

Salutation (south end of town) and Tut'n shive (north end of town) are probably the best pubs for the more mature drinkers. Both sell a good variety of decent beer.

Stay on the outskirts of town, or top end of the high street (Manana Manana etc.) until later on, 10-11 ish. After that go to Silver Street, plenty of clubs and bars to keep you going till the early hours.

What sort of team you expecting to bring Saturday? Read that Hughes was making changes.

Good luck (after Saturday of course). Stoke has a special place in most Rovers fans hearts as it was the scene of possibly the best and most important day in our history.

Town recomndations depend on your age range to be honest.

Biscuit Billys is a must see though, regardless of age. St Ledger tavern on Silver Street.

Also, I'm lead to believe most Stoke fans are drinking in Crystals in the market place.

About 2 years ago I picked up 3 Romainian lorry drivers up from the lorry park down Bootham lane Dunscroft, they wanted to go to town and asked me to drop them where all the loose women go, they were very excited when I told them I knew just the place, they would pull in there, so I dropped them off at Crystals, and wished them good luck 😀😀😀

Yep, some of us hoping for a draw so we get a replay. Return to the Britannia. I would love that a lot.

Turnpike on the High St, White Hart down Swan St, Ship Inn on Gainsborough Rd. Avoid Coco Ice, Zinis, whatever they call the Granby these days.

The Social is the best bar in town.

Not sure what anywhere will be like though first week of January. It's a shame, Donny is a cracking night out but you've got in on the worst weekend of the year.

Season is going very well now we've got rid of the previous numpty in charge of sorting out the XI on the pitch!

I wanna see Shaquiri, Affelay and Bojan play for you guys - altho that'd probably mean a heavy loss.

Hoping for a draw to take us back to the sacred place that is 'The Brittania' but am predicting a loss for us especially if any of the above play!

Are you aware of the history of our club and why The Brittania is such an important place in many of our hearts?

If not - in a nutshell it was at your place that the renaissance of DRFC really began!

I'd love to go to the Brittania again. It all feels like it was yesterday I was going mental at the top of the Boothen end.

Predication Saturday. It shall forever thus be known as the day on which the predication was made that Andy Williams has the eternal freedom to shag the wife of whomsoever he desires in the DN postcode area after banging in a 30 yard screamer with his knob end right in front of the Black Bank.

10 May 2003 - The greatest day in my life as a DRFC fan!

Has someone still got a link for the whole game?

I've got my DVD but wouldn't have a clue how to transfer it to here!

I don't think even one single person on here will ever, ever, ever forget that day :) Top day of all top days. And we've had quite a few since 2003 too :)

We'll still get rolled over by you lot on Saturday though... I'm a bit scared of what the result might be tbh.
