Going back to Ross County. With Gary and Martin Woods both there already they are becoming like Rovers Old Boys.

I had to smile about the idea that his family had failed to settle in Aberdeen and wanted to return to the Highlands. He seemed ok in Cardiff and Donny, which are nowhere near the Highlands!

By that I meant he stayed with us two years before he started yearning for the Highlands. He only lasted six months in Aberdeen, even though it is closer!

Thought he was a good player for us. Especially given we were in Championship he performed solidly. Perhaps head not in game but a player full of heart, grit and bottle. Possibly explains why Dickov let him go.

A mutual friend says that quinny was badly advised by his ex-agent and had his head turned by non-existant lucrative moves to championship clubs! Apparently paul wishes he'd simply agreed to new terms at drfc - obviously all hear-say but the fact his agent is now an ex-agent may back that up a bit! However my mutual friend was a landlord at quinny's local and he liked the odd beer or three too! Hard to say what happened with him really but still a touch more fire to 'the grass isn't always greener' train of thought!
