Looks like my point has gone whistling over your head again.

I've never questioned Forrester's ability. He's got it in shovels-full. What I've questioned is his heart and his ability.

Give him time and space (dozing Scottish defence; dozing Barnsley defence; dozing Gillingham keeper) and he'll produce moments of genius.

Put him in a scenario where he's shackelled and got someone really trying to close him down and he rarely produced anything.

So when I said "I wonder why he so rarely did that for us", the point was that the defences he played against for us were, generally, on a different plane to that God-awful St Mirren one at the weekend. If he plays against that sort of defence every week, he'll score 30 a season. But put him against a team like Bristol City last season and he'll shite it.

What I said to you was "We'd have scored a good few if we'd had more shots of that quality". I didn't stipulate Forrester in particular, I was referring to ALL Rovers players. The fact is that none of our players looked like doing that for us, and STILL don't.

I found two examples from the past 12 months of our players scoring better goals against better defences, while I was in the queue at the chippy.

I think I'll step out of this argument now.

Even if that were true, which is debatable considering Oldham's defence that day, there is still no point to your attack on my theory that if we'd had more shots of that quality we'd have scored a few more. You've even gone and proved my theory by showing some shots of quality resulting in goals.

I think an abject apology is called for.
