You can fool some of the people....

Question is, is it enough of the people for the malicious cretins who utter this sort of drivel to secure their objective?

You can rest easy Bob. The Government is spending £9m of taxpayer's (ie yours and my) money to counter this devilish nonsense. I'm sure there's no way that money could be better spent.

Austerity, eh?

Well we've already lost £4.4bn down the back of the settee in the budget. What's another £9m here and there?

Could also give millions away to some poor Asian country with sheer poverty. BUT who has a space programme of rockets being sent up to the moon or where ever this last year or so. Instead of addressing the homeless in this country OR fight against Cancer

Or do what THIS government would do with the money, which is to cut tax for rich people.

Personally John, I think the lies that the Out people continually peddle are so meretricious that they need to be countered. Mind you, I'm not too sure this leaflet will do much!

Heard the one about the 29,000 Brussels words needed to define a cabbage? yes. Thought so. It's been repeated a fair bit recently. Only snag is, it's totally unfounded. And that just about sums up both the standard of the Out campaign and the worthlessness of what they say. And I am not, btw, meaning to imply the In campaign are any better. They may have a few more accurate facts but only a few) but their negativity is mind blowing.

You could, of course, ask all those business people who claim to be in favour of staying in to pay for the leaflet. Although I suspect you wouldn't see them for dust.

Actually John, given that the position and advice of the elected government is that we should remain in th EU, I really can't see what's wrong with them sticking a leaflet in the letter box explaining why. If other folk want to leave, fine. They can put their money where their mouth and do likewise. But the one thing they really cannot expect is to be financially supported by the leadership of the country who have decided that their position is opposed to the best interests of the country. It's all a made up frenzy anyway isn't it? The press mafia have been stuffing anti EU propaganda down our throats week in week out for a decade now - yet they're not being accused of acting badly. The out campaign have had, and continue to receive, many, many times more free publicity that the stay in campaign gets. This is simply politics. Dirty politics. By dirty people with dirty agendas and dirty hands.
