 I hated being called 'Nobby', after Nobby Stiles when at junior school, but worse was to come at high school when for some reason I was given the new name of 'Horse', following our class's first communal shower after games.

What embarrassing nickname have you been christened in the past?

I got called John 'The bas**rd' for a couple months. Though truth be told I thought it was both fitting, funny, and I didn't actually mind it!

There was a stage when I was called 'swellhead' accompanied by a bbbwwwooowww sound - I really hated it and it came about because I wanted to work hard and learn which was unheard of down our way! I'm glad I kept working and learning tho because the kids who used to terrorise me at school have done feck all with their pathetic lives apart from scrounge off the state and bum around - very sad I know but it doesn't half feel good looking at the wasters now and laughing to myself!

My school life was an absolute misery till high school when we were streamed and finally I got shot of the w**kers that had nowt but rip the piss out of me and beat me up simply because I had a tiny snippet of intelligence and at least half a brain cell that worked!

Gangs of 'em 'swellhead bbwwooww, swellhead bbwwooww' still makes me shudder thinking about it now!
