See, much as I loved UB40 MkI, I'm also old enough to recall an interview with them in the Melody Maker in 1985 when they said that they were f**ked off with being right-on lefties and they were going to change their approach and make some serious money.
Which, of course, they did in spades. Chucking out the spellbindingly dark yet uplifting social commentary of "King" and "Strange Fruit" and "The Earth Dies Screaming" for American-aimed w**k like "I'll be Your Baby Tonight."
Still. Prodigal Son and all that, eh?
