The fans will just use it as a family occasion, chance to see relatives they only usually see at weddings and funerals.

If anybody is in Barnsley tonight there's a great group on at Gawber Rd. Social Club. Jagged Edge, brilliant lead guitarist. They do Journey,Foreigner,Bon Jovi, Gary Moore etc.
We saw them there a couple of months ago.

Is this Rob Armitage's Jagged Edge idler, no wonder they are good? I know Rob is from out that way and surely a Barnsley covers band wouldn't be using that name without him knowing.

I saw them at the Marquee Club in London in the mid 80's, excellent rock/metal band of their time and just a shame that with all the line up changes they never made it.

Yes I think it is Wilts and as far as I know there have been so many personnel changes over the years that it's a bit like the searchers etc where various members tour separately. I think they originally formed about 1987ish and were very well thought of but never achieved much. They had a Swedish singer for some time.
The current lead guitarist is Dave Rosingana, his brother Dan plays base.
They come from Barrow which limits the gigs as the rest live round Huddersfield,Pudsey. They did a gig last year in the Lake District where Status Quo topped the bill.

Ps. I meant never achieved much regarding widespread commercially rather than the respect of their peers.

Thanks idler, Rob really was/is a top singer and should have made it with a bigger band - he just didn't appear to like the music business. It's good to know he is still playing and yes if these are playing at local clubs then it will be a great night of music for a fraction of the price you would pay to see a much more mediocre band going through the motions in a big venue.

It was £2 to get in last time Wilts. They were on until after midnight, two slots with a break of about 30 minutes. The wife's cousin plays keyboards for them. He's over 70 now but doesn't look it.

Rob Armitage originally came from Bradford Wilts.
Dave Bamforth has been lead vocals for some years now.
