Was he wearing deep sea diving boots today?

Just today? He's my least favourite player at the minute, always just seems so lethargic.

I read something that Longbottom plays on the left, he'd do more than Calder.

Hopeless and simply not up to it. What does DF see that we don't? Send him back now.

On todays showing he must be able to run faster, he looked like he was knee deep in quicksand today

Surprised when he came on for Rowe, thought Middleton would have been a better sub at that moment.

It's like dumb and dumber down that left side with him and Evina.

Exactly this. A bit of pop slipped out everytime Colchester attacked down our left.

Such a relief to see that it's not just me that thinks this. Was reluctant to criticise the lad, especially as we won. But I've seen a handful of games this season and most last, and this lad contributes absolutely nothing! I didn't even know what foot he was until he bottled a shot on his right today. Simply not good enough.
And to have him on the same flank as Cedric the entertainer is sheer lunacy. They shouldn't be in the same pitch, never mind flank! It was an accident waiting to happen. Thankfully we got away with it today.

Sadly, the only thing he's got going for him is that he's apparently left-footed but he was absolutely awful today. I'd have pushed Evina forward and slotted in young Garrett at left back.
Any news why Rowe and Wright were taken off early.

Calder, Middleton offered nothing when brought on theybhave to do more to remain in the squad for me, only there because of injuries.

Rowe felt his calf was a bit dodgy, so probably a precaution. Wright subbed because he was having a hard time with Colchesters forwards.

Baudry looks a good player from what I've seen I wouldn't be surprised if he  starts next week.

It's not easy coming into the side off the bench, some thrive off proving a point others struggle to get into the game. I think he is useful to have in the squad but needs more minutes on the pitch to get his game going.
It can't be easy covering for the 'happy wanderer'(evina) at times. I get the feeling he is still trying to build up the defensive side in his game. It wasn't the sort of game where you stand out anyway.
As a sub it was a case of just plugging a gap and maintaining what we had.

Calder was excellent when he came in at Crewe..

Sadly I haven't seen him repeat that level of performance yet.

Agreed Calder was poor yesterday but also thought Evina wasn't helping the situation either by the way he does or rather doesn't defend .
I think it was a difficult game to play in as Colchester were running us ragged at times and to their credit never gave the game up.
He must improve or we get shot of him pronto.

I too don't like being critical of the men in Hoops but I have seen little to enthuse me with this guy. At one point today I shouted "run Calder run" which was hardly constructive because a) he did not hear me and b) he did seem to be wearing diving boots so did not seem to be able to run

When he was brought on I wondered what he was going to "add" and at the end I could not answer my own question !

My question to Fergie would be, what does Calder bring to the side. Because ever time I see him play I just cannot work out what he does that helps us.

ATS, Calder, Evina, Forrester.
I wonder why our left sided players attract so much vitriol?

Calder, fast becoming the new Lewis Guy whilst ATS is injured.
