Stat Attack v Exeter
W22 / D5 / L18

Rovers have lost 5 out of the previous 6 matches v Exeter. The last league match between the two teams was a 5-1 drumming at St James Park in the infamous 97/98 season. The last win in the tie for Rovers was a 2-0 way back in December 1995 (before Riccardo Calder and Mitchell Lund were born!)

Luckily (or not?) for Rovers, Exeter haven't won at home since April. They have only earned 1 point at home and won 5 so far this season, currently sitting 19th in L2, just 1 point above relegation.

I remember we played Exeter at home a couple of times in the early 80s, both times on Friday evenings - I think because of he Leger.  One year we won 3-0 and then 6-1.. either will do tomorrow!

I think, and I stand to be corrected, that the 3-0 was in 1981 and Hugh Dowd scored a headed goal from outside the penalty area at the Rosso end?

Added interest is that we signed captain Copps from them of course.

Years ago when it first came out we were interested in Copps    Dagenham played Exeter I made a point of going to see what it was all about as I was still in Dagenham, it was obvious the class! the dressing rooms were sort of behind the family stand and you could see and were close to the  away team as they trooped into the dressing rooms I shouted at Copps basically saying get yer arse to Doncaster I got a wry smile and a discreet thumbs up

in case anyone doesn't know

there's an under the radar match going on at the moment

score NEWPORT 1 CARLISLE  0

so by my reckoning Carlisle need 2 to win !!
goal after 2 minutes

25 now gone

and they've got just the right manager to do "any trick in the book" to get a result

one of their players was so hungry to win he got a 6 match ban for doing a suarez!!

point is less pressure on rovers today if Carlisle don't win

If Carlisle don't score, we will then be the only side in the division still to have scored in every league fixture this season..

I can see why Exeter haven't won at home for so long which shows how poor we are at present

BBC says we have 61% possession and 6 efforts on goal - are we playing badly?

Will somebody put their foot through the ball and bang it in to the net.

Sounds like Chuckle Brothers. To you, to me. No you. No after you sir.

Sky correspondent says the game hasn't had much quality but Copps had a good shot saved.

Radio Sheff commentators saying we are by far the better side but playing a long ball game today rather than our usual neat passing game.
Must be Fergies plan today for some reason or other.

They often do the Blunts or Owls on FM and either one of us, Dingles or Rothrum on Digital, usually the one who is playing furthest away.

Baudrey on in place of Butler.

332 Rovers fans there.
