But you can argue that Marosi has all the attributes to remain a better keeper than Dame Edna also.
I have seen nothing to suggest that Ross has anything to suggest he could be the better of the two.

For me, you get in an experienced keeper who is either warming the bench or out of contract. He acts as deputy to Marosi while Etheridge goes out on loan and regains some confidence.

Marosi reminds me of Sam Johnstone more and more. Extremely mobile around his box. Very agile as the save on Saturday showed on the penalty saves in the cup game. He's quick off the mark, as shown in the smother when he raced out. His catchings good and his decision making is improving all the time.

Marosi has 'fact' performances, Etheridge just a few very bad one's and a decent one, after that it's potential with him. He hasn't give the manager any reason to select him over Marosi.
Players at this level tend to have a few weaknesses don't they?. Maybe Etheridge isn't strong enough mentally to cope with pressure. Not being disrespectful to Accrington but the pressure is a touch higher with us than them.
Just like the pressure our players have is nothing compared to bigger clubs than we are. The mental side is underestimated. You can get two players, player one thinks there's nothing like himself though not as good as player two he produces better performances because he has confidence.
No matter how much a coach works with player two sometimes you can't unlock that talent because the guy doesn't believe in himself. I know personally because i was player two when i used to play.

Let's bear in mind that Marosi and Etheridge are babes-in arms in goalkeeping terms. Marko has made giant strides over the last year and who's to say Ross won't do the same with a run of games.
I'm more than happy with our options at present.

I'm with you on this hound. I don't have a problem with people using the 'p' word in debating a player's attributes but I asked on what basis had they formed that opinion based on what he has done for us thus far and nobody gave any kind of explanation to justify their opinion.
Following their logic, I would say that Marosi has the potential to be better than Etheridge and back it up by this season's performances.

I don't know how much it counts for but Marosi was in the Slovakia Under-21 squad.

I guess it could be seen as 'nit picking' on my part. We are going along nice not much wrong with what we've done so far. I'm just thinking ahead if we face a really tough 'backs to the wall' game. Where the keeper can be the difference are the two we have going to win us the game?
It's a fine balancing act changing things in any squad. The spirit seems good at the minute so you have to be careful that any new people can mix in with the rest.
I admire Marosi's professionalism i haven't heard of him moaning to the press because he doesn't play. That's despite him probably being fed up for a long time not getting true opportunities to play. So far he has done pretty well. Maybe i've been spoilt by the previous keepers we have had?.
Etheridge so far has disappointed me i see him as a good prospect but he hasn't done it so far. I do want a young keeper that we can develop and for them to be with us for a long time.
It's just i think a short term older head training with them both, stepping into the side when needed would help all concerned.

I love the contrast that's so often apparent when you two write: prolixity on the one hand and and brevity on the other! And both often with interesting things to say.

I like this conundrum - I do believe etheridge will be a more long term option but Mario has done really well - he's taken his chance and grasped it - top man! But I saw enough from etheridge pre-season to believe we have potentially a very good goalkeeper there! But it is all potential and confidence - at the moment Ross has more potential imo - and Marko more confidence! While ever we are going well marko will play I'm sure - current form and confidence dictates that - unquestionably! Longer term I would still stick my neck out and say etheridge for now marosi deserves the shirt! Neither seem to be moaners - so it's a great situation to be in! I still think tho that we'll be looking for a keeper with more game experience in the window to up the ante on the pair of em tho!

If we're near the top of the League come January and not leaking goals it would make no sense whatsoever to bring in a third goalkeeper!
