Copps

That moment when the ball dropped out of the sky with snow on it, control and turned on a sixpence in a nanosecond.

Genius.

Classic Coppinger and he made it look so easy.
He really is total class and to think that some people had a go last week because he turned on a ball and ran it out of play......

Tommy Rowe and Copps have to be the best two players in the division.

It was a superb piece of skill, he must be the best player in this by a long chalk

Very much like the control he showed last Season on East Stand side 10 yards from North Stand corner flag

I think that was better even than todays undoubted bit of skill and it prompted the comment that "Copps stood out like a Goth in a snowstorm" in the 250 word report

He was "on fire" today I have to say

What amazed me today about Copps was the dribble that he uses to beat defenders with. He used the same technique/dribble each time and each time the defender fell for it and Copps just drifted by.

 Its a 10 from me.

Agree with that.  He makes out he's going outside on his left foot then cuts across on his right.  I love it.

Any other player would have let that go out for a throw in! Awesome
Now if he had meant the shot instead of the driven cross in the 2nd half !!

The one that was starting to bend from the outside of his right foot?  That was a shot everyday of the week..

The control of that ball when it dropped from the sky was nothing short of breathtaking.
He was worth the ticket price alone today.

Enjoy him while you can guys and girls, I just wish he could go on forever.

He's been doing that same trick on both wings for years and never have opposition defenders managed to catch on.

Always amazes me how something so simple has been so effective for him.

I vary my position in the west but yes, we must have seen things differently.  Perhaps I was wound up a bit by your comments on another thread that we "rode our luck " yesterday ;)

We deffo di not ride our luck yesterday

On top and "playing football" from the get go and conceded a goal to an unstoppable free kick. They really mustered only one more effort whilst we were rampant for most of the time

I saw somewhere that we should have won maybe 6-1 and I thought that was a nearer appraisal of what happened than rode our luck

I sat in West and cant agree with either of you as I cant remember the shot / cross lol

After we went 3-1 up, cutting in from the right towards the corner of the 6 yard box, t**tted the ball with the outside of his right foot - didn't curl into the far post.  There were players in the box, but IMHO it was a shot.

I thought it was a cross and I said to DD that had he hit it with the outside of the foot he would have scored cos the goalie misread it completely

You wouldn't see many players in any division control a ball like the one dropping from such a height. Copps has controlled these on more than one occasion, proving that it is skill and not luck.
It's a shame that it wasn't a televised game where the commentators could have drooled over it and shown it to a wider audience.

Copps is still an integral part of the way we want to play and he is likely to be for as long as he keeps producing performances like that.

A big if, but if we take this on to League One he will still be a cut above the average skill level. We'll see defenders fall for the same tricks time and time again. Being picky, I'd like him to be more ruthless in front of goal, as he's already shown earlier in the season.

There's nothing better than seeing Copps in full flow.

If that was a cross it's time to get rid, nobody would have got on the end of that.  Shot all day long.

And, as for the level he's playing at, as Idler says, anybody in any division taking a ball out of the air like that would have commentators drooling.

Also agree 100% that it was a shot.
If we do go up this season Copps will still be a stand out player for us next season.
He prides himself on his fitness and his skill level is only matched in our team by Tommy Rowe.
I saw a comment recently that said Copps is only looking good because we are playing in L2.
