Best away goal at Keepmoat ?
« on November 26, 2016, 08:13:48 pm by Donnywolf »
In my (unbiased) and humble opinion I have the best away goals at Keepmoat as Martin Woods Rotherham in second place and Milijas of Wolves in top spot

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bc2fXFy4lFk (25 seconds in)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IylMvWXo52c (16 seconds in)

However that strike today was so incredible I applauded it and awarded them 1.5 goals. However it still meant they lost 3 - 1.5 an William Hill have duly paid me for saying Rovers win and both Teams to score (get in)

Kid near me was screaming that Marosi should have saved it. "It was floated in......should be saving those"

Some lads behind me were giving Marko pelters for not saving it. Really? It was right in the top corner and moving away from him.

I applauded it, Credit where it's due! It was a brilliant free kick and no keeper in the country could get to it.

Marosi more than made up for it with the Banks-style save in the 80th(ish) minute.

I just think Marosi was expecting a ball towards the box for Orient to attack, probably like most of us were?.

Maybe a learning curve to stay switched on and realise a player may shoot from that distance every now and then.

Today was my first home game since we played West Ham, its been a long time. But I can make the next two games.

I was sat in the South Stand and in my considered opinion that free kick was virtually unstoppable, great goal, pat on the back young man.

I thought he was going to shoot they had 5 players behind he ball, 1 keeper, 3 in defence and the free kick taker was only ever going to be a shot but it was a great free kick. Glad we won and well no more than we deserved after hitting the bar 3 times i feared our luck had run out but the whole team battled back after there goal.

Ha, unbelievable comment.
No keeper would have saved that one.
Expecting it or not, Marosi (nor anyone else) had no chance of saving that.

Just what I said on way out. NOBODY would have stopped that one. Perfection !

Milijas still in lead though ... just !

Forgot the L**** goal which was also not bad - but I did NOT applaud that one of course !

Great goal, and probably in the top five away goals I've seen scored at Keepmoat (along with the two mentioned by DonnyWolf), but not even sure it's the best free-kick.

Whoever scored for Notts County in the final home game of 2012-13 takes that honour.

I never thought i would see a better one than Sheehan's but today his free kick got battered. Never mind which league it was in, it was one of the best free kicks i have ever seen from any level of football.
You could have put four keepers on the goal line and it still would have gone in. If that is the standard of goal we concede for the rest of the season, we will have no worries because that was special. I honestly don't see a better one being scored this season there just wasn't a chance for the keeper.

Lady who sits near me loves to get on the keepers back but even she said how good a free kick it was.

No chance of saving it.

Sat directly behind it,it was a goal from the minute it left his foot...Fantastic strike and no blame on Marosi at all, nobody would have stopped that...Ironically the Orient fans couldn't believe it either, apparently he normally couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo from free kicks...

When the free kick was given both me and my son said that we had a bad feeling. Memories of Alan Sheehan scoring for Leeds probably.
We sit in the west stand so it wasn't until seeing it from a different angle later that we could appreciate just how good it was.

I think half through it's flight, I thought "Oh boll.." When it hit the back of the net "...ocks!"

Cameron Stewart and David Cotterill gave us some brilliant free kicks and that was right up there with the best!

I also thought that Kennedy was the best Orient player out there on the day.

I still can't believe that the Martin Woods I watched at rovers for 4/5 years ever produced a goal of that quality

I mis-remembered the Martin Woods goal in that it seemed much nearer to the East Stand BUT his goal and the Carlisle blokes goal (Garner ?) mentioned earlier both had a common factor

Ben Smith in the nets I think and no I dont like having a"pop" at our own Players but his first move was to dive and then try to reach higher up !

Never seen a keeper more likely to be beaten from outside the box than Ben Smith!

Think he's the one keeper I've seen for us worse than Gary Woods.

Jason Koumas' free-kick in Cardiff's 3-1 win in 2011 was pretty decent, from memory.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBipcK1tbGA

was good, but the one on Saturday was even better I think
