Mandeville chant
« on November 27, 2016, 07:03:30 pm by Alickismyhero »
I don't get to many games now due to commitments, so I may be out of touch, but what do you lot think about adopting this chant for him.

"MANDY MANDY YOU'RE ONE OF OUR OWN" etc

I apologise if you already do it but I really do think he will respond. We should take him to our hearts because he could be something very special, I liked what I saw of his performance in this game.

               "He's one of our own"

After his second goal yesterday I did hear the beginning of a suitable song for him from some people in the South, in a section between the back of the goal and the big screen.
It was Liam , Liam Mandeville to the " Go West" tune.
As we already use the one of our own song for Andy Butler it would be better to have a different song for Liam.

Whatever the chant Hound it will blow his self confidence sky high. I just get the impression that he is a kid that if he were to have a few bad games and the knockers get at him he couldn't cope. I liked what I saw yesterday and I really want him to do well.

Agreed Alick, he is improving but is still not as influential as say Marquis or Williams.
I do like the way he runs into the channels behind the fullbacks, something that our forwards don't do too often.
He is quite skillful but obviously isn't the quickest.
On the penalties yesterday, if the keeper had dived right for the first one is would have been very saveable as he appeared to just hammer it..
On the second one I watched his run up and he appeared to watch the keeper move right and then just rolled it the opposite way, like Stocky used to do.

Its my first chance to look at the kid closely and I really liked it. He is young and inexperienced but he will develop this season, I am sure.

As Fergy says "it will be hard to drop him from the team if he keeps scoring" so the ball is in his court so to speak.

When it comes to the penalties Mandy scored 2 today our other two strikers have missed them this season!

I don't want to put Mandy on a pedestal but I would like the singing section to get right behind him even when he has a poor game, which I am sure will happen.

I will get the chance to watch him closely in the next game. A bit light weight but he is getting there.

Yes I like it. The reason I think it important is that it lets the kid build a special relationship with the supporters. It certainly helped Husband settle in to the team quickly. I wonder what the "Singing section come up with"

Redj

if we only had that group with that drummer of ours.

When it comes to a backing group for the supporters I don't know if you went to last time we played at Watford but they had an American group of about 60 who were taking part in the Lord Mayor's parade the following day and Watford got them in for our game. They got involved in supporting Watford and boy did they create an atmosphere.

Given LM's scoring record which is exceptional I have an alternative to the "he scores when he wants" and we should go with :

He shot he scored Im getting f*****g bored
Mandeville Mandeville

That would be a new "twist"

there is something in that I like.

Where is a rep from the singing section? or do we need Gareth whats his name to do a program on football supporters songs? perhaps not.

Actual Mandy lyrics are

Well you came and you gave without taking
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
Will you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Mandy

Over to the lyric twisters amongst you.

OK, I'll have a go:

Well you came and you scored and you saved us
Yes you tucked it away, oh Mandy
If you don’t get the next then you can give it to Marquis
And we need you today, oh Mandy

I hope the singing section take it on board or come out with something of their own because that kid would run through brick walls with pride just look what it did for big Rob.
