Matty Blair

Take a bow, young man. Played a solid game today even though most of it was as a makeshift RB. Now, if only we could find your like again but on the left.

My MotM today.

Yes, he was excellent today and full of energy. For me, close call for mom between he, Houghton and Baudry.

Have to admit I was totally underwhelmed when I heard we'd signed him.

What a signing it was though. Love him and he's quality, and can do a job wherever you put him.

There was a passage of play when Blair got back to tidy up by cushioning a header back to Marosi. Cool as you like given his previous faux pas earlier in season.

He made some good tackles and did the simple things very well. Never stopped running.

Baudry's tackle inside the area was a pearler, it had to be spot on. He tidied up so many situations and got us moving again.

They slated Baudry on player for that challenge. Said it was "too risky". Clueless to be fair though Tom and the Free Press bloke.

I thought it was very risky and with any slight mis-timing would have been a penalty and a sending off
Pleased that he got it spot on but worried that next time he won't!

Blair was superb yesterday, MOTM for me and every time he slots into that right back role he goes above and beyond what we expect from him. His pace is frightening too, such an asset.

Baudry was a close second for MOTM to me, made some crucial interventions at the back that went a long way towards us keeping a clean sheet. He isn't perfect, has a touch of casual worry in him but overall is clearly a talented footballer and a strong player.

Yes I thought Blair was excellent yesterday.
Just a pity he has had to do so much defensive work this season
so far.
If he played in the opposition half more we would be scoring even more goals as his pace is too much for full backs in this league and his crossing ability is very good.
Williams for example would thrive from his ammunition.

Baudry's tackle had to be made and he did it to perfection.
No doubt in my mind that he had to make it.
He is growing on me and although some posters have doubts about him I can only think of one goal conceded by us that was down to him and that was the penalty against Hartlepool.

Baurdy is a classy player for this level. Blair is a really good signing can play almost anywhere and puts a performance in. Good crossing ability as well plenty of stamina, we've got a good one with him.

Hound,I take it you were not at Oldham in the cup then.
He is playing well though, and Grimsby was his best game up to press.

Quite right mate, I wasn't at Oldham which is why I couldn't say that I gad seen a mistake he may have made.
