One poster has mentioned this but no-one else seems to have noticed

Rovers vs Pompey Jan 5th.

Already had my International travel tickets booked from Jockland before I found out!

This has been known by most for quite some time .. perhaps the news isn't moving so quick north of the border?

It's still an absolute disgrace though. We've lost 1k Pompey fans from this game and probably a fair few hundred home fans n'all. Even if we do somehow break even with the money we get from sky the game has still been killed in terms of atmosphere and occasion. A two-thirds empty keepmoat will look dreadful on the telly especially with the cameras being in the west stand. So it's not decent exposure either.

I wouldn't have minded it being shown live on Saturday lunch or teatime or even Sunday. Thursday night is taking the piss though.

It smacks of  "we've got to show so many L2 games so let's stick one on in a graveyard slot." I mean, who watches football on a Thursday night unless your team is in the Europa League?

The audience will probably consist of a few thousand Donny and Pompey fans- mostly down the pub- half of whom would have been at the game if it was at the weekend. Madness!

They've stuck it on the Thursday to avoid a 'clash' with FA Cup 3rd Round weekend. Basically, there's nothing better for Sky to show that weekend than a League 2 game since BBC and BT have the Cup live rights, and every league's fixtures are decimated by said Cup involvement. It's absolutely shit.

Another practical complaint is that it adds to fixture congestion for both sets of players too, as bemoaned by the Pompey manager.

It is frustrating that it seems most of our Sky games are home ones.

The only away ones I can think of in recent years are Crawley and Middlesbrough. Are there any more Iv forgot? (I'm not counting Southend).

That's because our matches are only broadcast live for the benefit of a large away support who may be tempted from travelling to Donny and watch it on telly instead.

I suppose Yeovil are the exception to that rule.

Can`t see more than 4,500 at this game, pathetic putting this game on a thursday night, making it 4 games in 11 days.

When did we play Middlesbrough away on Sky? I've absolutely no recollection of it.

A Friday night during our last season in the Championship Glen.
We were awful and lost 4-0 or 4-1. Albert Adomah got a couple for them I think. My granddaughter watched it in the uni bar at Teesside dressed in her Rovers shirt. Not one of her better decisions.

It was a Friday night, start of October half term holidays, it was my first day in Belamedena, that South Korean had signed on loan that day

Reece Wabara was diabolical that night. I too watched it in a pub up north (Newcastle) in my Rovers shirt, not much fun.

The commentators kept calling him "War-borough" as well.

They should have had a player sent off in first minute for an awful tackle but we were garbage that night.

You know, I have absolutely NO memory of Mr Suk-Young. None at all... I presume a full back? How many games did he play for us? What happened to him? Did he end up in a tin of dog food? Or manage to get a spot with some other team?

Signed on loan from QPR and played that evening on debut.
We were lucky to score NIL.

Thanks Lincoln. Having sat here thinking for 5 minutes I have a feeling I did see him play for us against someone unknown. Was he on the left?

He only made 3 appearances for us , all ended in defeat.

Middlesb  (a) L 4-0
Brighton  (h) L 3-1
Ipswich   (h)  L 3-0

From memory, yes - although that was after he'd recovered from the injury which ended his loan with us.

With the game being on sky I'm sure the RAB (request a bet) will be available on our game. If you are new to this you can pick goalscorer/s, corners, cards, amount of goals ect, then you get the odds with the picks you have chosen (SkyBet).

Thanks eastender :) It was probably Brighton then when I saw him - though I'm damned if I can remember anything about the game. But I've always made a special effort for the Brighton games ever since 1997-98 and all that.

Yun was a graduate of the Cédric Evina Academy. Looked ok going forward but couldn't defend to save his life.

When we play Plymouth at home,it's an International weekend, and Sky tend to move kick offs to suit there needs, just a thought
