Bercow the speaker
« on February 06, 2017, 06:13:23 pm by selby »
goes home to a wife with slippy knickers and the morals of a gutter snipe, and does not want to let Trump speak in the house of commons.
I accept morals, but come on.

Since when have they let anyone who isn't an MP speak in the House Of Commons?

They spoke in Westminster Hall though, not the House of Commons...whoever's suggested Trump gets to do something they haven't needs slapping down by the Speaker.

In ten years time he, or more likely his lad,may own the commons and will have turned it into a hotel.
He is clever enough to wait until we have paid for the repairs first though.

Struggling to see what's quite so political about Bercow's speech. Racism and sexism are bad, and people who say and do racist and sexist things shouldn't be called in front of parliament, is the long and short of it. Doesn't seem political to me.

The Duke of Edinborough will never speak there then.
Better to leave it to the numpties like Cameron then.

He seemed happy enough shaking hands with the Chinese though Bally.
What they are doing in the Pacific and South China Sea is just abhorrent apart from the Tibetan problem and human rights issues.
You can't even get Facebook there, rightly or wrongly. 😉

The world IMO would benefit without bloody facebook...... I only pass comment on what is in todays papers. I am not bothered either way because they do not care about the rank and file.. All the empty properties (factories and old offices could easily give homes to the needy and homeless. I shall now shut up

I don't really use Facebook Bally but by refusing access to it you taking away freedom of speech. Especially as the only reason for this was criticism of the government.

Maybe Bercow wasn't impressed that he wasn't been offered his customary meal ticket to Flushing meadow for the us open tennis,or another big renovation for his private chambers or maybe another big taxpayer bill for his posh meals with mp's or even couple of grand for his saville row suit that he constantly bills the tax payer for...I have no respect for that man even though I agree with him on this issue...He's been quite happy to meet and listen to many unsavoury characters over the years with human rights issues...Theres nothing that gets my goat more than someone who hides behind a moral issue to serve his own aims, then quite happy to look the other way when they don't...And he's one of them

Sorry but I'm with Bercow , having said all that Trump might as well join all our MPS who have struggled withe both their morals and consciences of late.

All those that said " I don't believe in voting for this and think it's bad for our country but it's the will of the people " crap - fit in well with this moron.

If he addresses both houses and is then met with a stony silence that would say more about him than a ban.
We have entertained many unsavoury characters, some with far worse records on human rights issues than Trump.

OK then let's bring it on , why he was offered such an honour so soon begs many questions though....

Has he been offered it yet though, or was Bercow getting in a pre-emptive strike..? And addressing both Houses is different to what the OP said about speaking in the House of Commons...addressing both Houses is usually in Westminster Hall like the other people mentioned in this thread.
