If should body can add a poll to this thread asking bascially should I stay or go ,Iam more than happy to live by the result .

You can fix your own time scale for results to be cast .

As the saying goes if Iam a bad apple that upsets the cart then so beit , as I don't won't to bring the VSC forum down as it's a good place.

I'm not keen on your far right of Ghengis Khan's views but each to his own. Please stay.

Definitely stay mate.
You add to the forum and stimulate discussion on a great variety of subjects. Some people agree with some they don't. That's life.

Despite a number of posters having hissy fits about stories of old days out, many of us of a certain age grew up with them and whilst football society has moved on, there's no harm looking back on them with a mixture of what it was like then and how things have changed.
As they say, you can't undo the past but you also shouldn't erase it.

What with the recent heated argument about standing up at matches on the main forum, and now all this bickering on the off topic section, it seems that people aren't content with just blocking the view of others during matches, they want to block the view of others on the forums too.

Stick with it N.O.F, it's only a handful of people who get the monk on when people have the audacity to express opposing views.

Personally I don't want to block views, unless they are inciting hatred. As I've said, I think not on facebook sails very close to the wind, but it's a subjective matter so I've no problem if someone else see's it differently.

I do however think it is entirely fair to undermine, belittle, expose etc. any such posts - for example when mischievous types claim Christmas has been banned without offering anything to back it up

Anyway, if not on facebook feels he needs his fellow posters to rally round him then he's a delicate little thing isn't he, and as we're all Rovers in the end we should give him our full support during this tough time.

Syme when I post owt wrong or right it's from what I think or feal  I don't fcuk about trying to present facts or figures to back my post .

If it's shown Iam wrong from whatever post I take it on the chin.

I don't feal the need for any body to rally round me for support what so ever.iam not holding a gun to anyone's head or handing out brown envelops full of norsk Kr .

I do enjoy this place ,but like I said the VSC is far more important than one person.

There is no hidden agenda just a straight forward yes or no,Iam not looking for a green light to become a eight eyed purple monster or convince anyone to back my views .

Its correct that I was there when the ddr  name was formed some 30 or more years ago and I have acted accordingly over the years and paid my fines etc etc.iam not ashmed one bit ,but I would not be happy if my sons went down same road which I know they won't

I've no problem with differing views. I'll argue with them if I think they're wrong, and especially if they're just plain untrue because while I understand people can hold different views they should all at least be based on the truth.

However, I do think that NOF's posting style can at times be disrespectful to other forum users, or just needlessly downright obnoxious to those who don't hold the same opinions he does in general. There's just no need for it.

Glyn,
It could be argued that some other more erudite posters can be just as obnoxious and disrespectful in there own way.
Maybe they are worse in some respects because they're deliberately trying to belittle?

Maybe the answer is for all posters at both ends of the spectrum to take posts at face value, agree, disagree or comment if you feel the need but without making it personal?

Does this apply to arrogant, pompous and smarmy posters?

No one person on this forum has any more right than any other to post. The whole point of a forum is to offer opinions whether other people like it or not. So long as there is nothing offensively racist, sexist or any other ism you care to name. You keep posting Oslo, you entertain me most of the time, if I think it's bollox I'll ignore it but I'll stand in your corner for your rights. Think there's a few people on here being very precious and snobbish.

I find your posts entertaining NOF. Don't always agree with you but that's part of the interest. I'm guessing you were a bit of a rascal back in the day. Whilst I'm totally opposed to hooliganism and don't understand it's attraction at all, it was the DDR who saved me and my pals from receiving an almighty good hiding at Grimsby back in the 80's. So I'm certainly grateful for that.

Anyway, I digress. Stay.

WEll, there are certainly names on here that have rubbed many up recently. I tell it as it is and so does NOFB, now considering his time and my time in the past regarding football, it is possible that I may have arrested him, who knows. BUT firstly I am no longer a Policeman and he is no longer DDR, I see members of what was the DDR sitting near me at games and they never say a wrong word. I was a football hooligan before I joined the Police but knew when to keep out the way.

I see nothing wrong with his posts. - if there is something on the t.v . you do not like then do not watch it, if there is something written either ignore or swear under your breath and ignore it BUT everybody is entitled to have their say. I tell stories, I live in the past and as I said before. I feel safer there.  If he goes which I hope he does not then many others including me should also consider, their own involvement.

I always think these forums cause problems but cannot keep my own council. Can we just get on with the business in hand. Get promoted and I do want that tittle. Who knows next season we may not be so well off.

I don't need anything to speak my mind mr grim reaper ,but I have promised myself to watch my p's and q's sir.

There is one thing that I have learnt about far left and far right wing people.

The far right will go about their day to day dealings in the main with face masks not been the norm.

Then you get the far left wing ,who will wear masks and face cover in the main as that's the norm.

Just watch any demonstrations by either for starters.

Stay.
So what if somebody doesn't agree, thats what a football forum is for.  If everybody thought the same thing then this world would be pretty boring.

P.S; I do look out and enjoy reading your long thought out posts and some of your stories.

It's not if somebody that agrees with me or not that is the issue.

The issue is are my rants having a effect on the VSC forum that will effect it short or long term.

It don't bother me if persons get tied up via my point of view if Iam honest.

Posters come and Posters go. They have views I sometimes agree with totally or disagree with totally. That's life I suppose

Some go away and then reinvent themselves and return with a new ID and you can often detect them due to their style of writing / spelling .... or leaving little dots as I do to keep my posts shorter

In the end a Forum is there to promote a "subject" - in this case Rovers - and allow people their input on that subject and I for one say long may it continue.

If people however cant stop sniping at each other, then that adds nothing to the Forum and usually ruins a Thread within a few posts and so those people should start using PM's rather than clogging up what for the majority of users is a valid and entertaining tool
