Yesterday at The Keepmoat......
« on April 03, 2017, 10:42:54 am by Reg Maelstrom »
.....My 2 girls, 5 & 9, got invited to a birthday party, of course I usually try to avoid attending such events, however, due to the fact a stadium tour was included, I thought I must attend. Well, what a day.
Staff looked after us amazingly, made all the kids feel really special, Rovers shirt and captains armband for the Birthday boy (Happy 6th for yesterday Alex!), look around the ground and a kick about before food in the hospitality suite. I didn't realise what a bustling community 'hub' the Keepmoat is; under 15s played Burton in the morning, Belles playing on the athletics pitch, Dons playing Hunslet while our visit was on. So, while the kids were being fed, me and the other Dads sat out in the sun & watched the second half of Dons v Hunslet. Wow, what a brutal spectacle, Dons won, and some comedy handbags between Hunslet fans.
Highly recommended day, thanks to all the staff including coach John, my two kids slept like logs last night!

Nice to hear. I dont think most Rovers fans understand how much goes off at the Keepmoat when DRFC are not playing, its the centre of so much activity these days and quite rightly should be pleased with itself.

I was over in the UK for last few weeks ...took my little girl into the club shop to buy her a new shirt. Tracy in the shop let us go out and have a look at the pitch and stadium (she even took a couple of pics for us). That was a pretty special moment this trip.

I'm running a business event at the moat at the end of the month. Did it last year and the attention to detail from DRFC and Centreplate was first class.
