What about his 3 sidekicks, couldn't they have put him straight.

There are four qualified referees out there and you'd think one of them would have said "hold on, that's wrong."It's possible that one did and that Stroud chose to ignore him. If so, that's a very damning indictment of him. Stroud is an odd one. He's capable of refereeing quite competently most of the time. However, every now and again he produces a horror show. I recall him making a complete Horlicks of a game at Bumhole Lane a few years ago. I think he sent three or four off. Apparently he has been stood down for this weekend. I suspect he will be taking a break till next season.
If a penalty is missed or saved and it is the attacking team which encroaches, then it's an indirect free kick to the defending team. If it is scored in the same circumstances then the penalty is retaken..If the defending team encroaches and the penalty isn't scored, it's a retake. If it was scored then the goal stands.Simple really when you think about it..

He then missed the retake.It was at Belle Vue and I'm not sure if Kettle was the ref.
