Sheffield and hallamshire cup final

Joe Pugh and Reece fielding both played in the final tonight for Frickley. Final score was 1 0 to Shaw lane aqua force. By all accounts our lads played well. Just beaten by a lucky goal.

I am lost with this. Up to 70/80's we played Sheffield clubs, Rotherham and Barnsley. Then we played such heavyweights as the mighty Mexborough Main Street in the conference. I was at Hillsborough when we won the cup.  Is it that the "big clubs" pay a "fine" for not putting teams in now?

It's two different competitions. We were only eligible for this one, the Senior Cup, whilst we were non-league.
The other one, the County Cup, was for league teams only and was last played for in 1993 when Barnsley won it.
