Funny this 'be proud of your country' stuff. Like why? Why should I be proud of an accident that meant my Mum happened to be in England the time I sprang forth? Why should I be proud of a nation of xenophobics? Why should I be proud of a nation that tolerates the spastics at the Fa, the Premier League and encourages the untold, unaccountable and manipulative power of Sky? Why should I be proud of a nation that encourages the Daily Mail and the Sun? Boris bloody Johnson and 2 evil women? Why should I be proud of a nation that lives in the past, has delusions of grandeur and can't face its own mediocrity?

Cool. How many 'Angry of Tunbridge Wells' will that bring forth?

Good job that you weren't born in North Korea then Bob. 😉

Hang on a few more years and big business will ensure St Georges Day will be celebrated much more that it currently is

There are already Breweries brewing specifically named Beers / Bakeries doing English Flag Cup cakes and other businesses are joining in to convince us to get involved or for those that have that they can "celebrate" with relevant products

Yorkshire Day has taken off from zilch to quite a celebrated event. I bet quite a few on here know the date of it already and this was born out of nothing and is getting bigger each year

Black Friday - enough said

Trick or Treat - still cant get used to being wished a Happy Halloween by several Radio / TV Presenters !

Mothers Day Fathers Day and others are mere products of commercialism (or as stated above Capitalism)

Incidentally and off topic in a way I did have to laugh at this Poster in Prague (clue ....Look where the address is - ironic or what)

Talking of living in the past, nice use of the deeply offensive and thoroughly outdated term 'spastic'.
Who are the 2 evil women? I've got a ducking stool ready

Maybe you're just bitter in the knowledge that you were an accident!

Just back from Manchester. There was a big St Georges day parade through the city on Sunday. Everyone was decked out in red and white clothing , wigs etc. Lots of music, street food and families of all colours and creeds. Great event. Just needs someone with the gumption to organise it I suppose

Iam all for pubs kitting out with English flags and buntin on St. George's day or when England play in whatever football or sports game/event.

What I find to be a really turn off is when you still see said buntin that is left up with no intention of it been taken down as it looks like it's  just about to fall down it's been up that long.

The above alone sends warning signals to what type of idiots are running the pub >'and you can bet your last $$$ that the pillocks of bar staff will have the tv on midday showing likes of day time tv ,with only customers been Bert ,Fred,Neil and Stan who are all 65+ >>>

>>> turn the tv down and stick a racing channel on ,and play some decent music back from the day and not too loud ffs.
