Has left Gillingham to go to Blackburn for a reported £750k, is he any better than Williams?

Thought he'd go to the Championship.

Thought he'd go to the Championship.

If a top league 1 player who plays the "number 10 role" can't get in to a Championship side then it shows that people perception of players may be exaggerated. It also shows that Blackburn have the Championship funding to be able to buy there way out of this league. Also Bradley will have the belief that next season he will be a Championship player with Blackburn.

I think the second half of your post is spot on, somewhat contradicting the first half. Dack is good enough for the Championship no doubt but Blackburn are an attractive proposition because they will aim on being an upwardly mobile club in that division next season. It is the same incentive that Fergie will have used to get Rowe, Blair, Marquis etc. here last year.

I get confused with Bradley Duck (sorry Dack) and Cody McDonald

we could say "Donald Duck" has left the club

Cody McDonald: AFC Wimbledon sign Gillingham striker on free transfer

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40370416

one rejected a new contract for afc wimbledon of all clubs !!

Early last season i was watching Gillingham waiting for a resurgence in form that never happened even afc wimbledon ( who the world and his dog thought were certs for relegation) were beating them  -- quite possibly they only kept one clean shettaway from home all season and that would have been late on --

the point i want to make are despite the Gillingham owner presumably having money they look at this moment in time relegation fodder .  Old MacDonald wants a new FARM for a reason

and the other point is if afc wimbledon with presumably a microscopic budget can stay up Rovers must have no difficulty

rumour is redj will luv this post  have a nice day

I think Gillingham will struggle this season after losing Dack & McDonald. I rate their right back Ryan Jackson who was quality against us at home in the 2-2 draw last season

He was quality in the away game that season as well. Amazing how he hasn't been snapped up.

Dack wasn't that great last season by all accounts... 750k is a lot of money for a League one club to be splashing about.

My money is on them to go down next year. Didnt rate them when they were in league one last time we were and they got lucky last season iirc.  Only a matter of time before they go.

No longer as young but Dack going back to Gillingham is a big move for them. He struggled at Sunderland but League Two should be far easier going for him.

I’m surprised he’s only 30. Him and Jonny Williams in the same midfield is some pedigree.

He’s not had a full season since 2018/19 but if he’s fit and playing he will take the piss at this level.
Big risk on big wages.

He’s had a bad injury but if he’s recovered then Gillingham will be very strong this season

Suppose it could go either way really.
There were similar concerns about Nick Powells fitness this time last year, he ended up making 32 league appearances for Stockport.. I’d imagine they were quite happy with that.

Sometimes it’s  worth a punt on an old ‘un.
Think it comes down to their character, I’m winding down in a comfort zone or my last years are going to be my best, which is it?
What struck me in one of Billy Sharp’s interviews pre season, he came across as really annoyed and aggravated he didn’t score for Hull.
His drive is unbelievable, goals are his oxygen.

It’s a heart ruling head signing for the Gills this. He won’t stay fit for sure. I know a few Sunderland fans and all have said what a complete waste of time signing Dack was. Never fit and in the games he did play he was a ghost. You have to ask yourself why a player of his calibre, and at a good age finds themselves in League 2. For him it’s a good location and will be a good pay check at this point of his career.
