Donny Races 1st July
« on June 29, 2017, 05:02:02 pm by DaveDRFC »
Off to the races on Saturday, I've been a few times now and never win a bloody thing as I am clueless when it comes to betting. Anyone got any tips?

Very true, I tend to just pick the ones with daft names or the same number in every race!

Also, the plan is exactly to piss it back up the wall, I'm not fussed about winning big but would be nice to have a cheap day out.

A few years back i was at the races with the wife and a few other couples.
Us blokes were studying the form and reading tips from The Sporting Life  but winning naf all.
In about the fourth or fifth race my wife picked a horse called Mrs P, simply because she is Mrs P.
It won at 33/1.

Similar to DRFC hound, years ago Our Rita won the Lincoln at 33/1, the number of old ladies picking up their £34 because they had a Rita in their family so they had a cheeky £1 bet, and the look on the bookies faces as they handed the money over was priceless

The bookies will be glad a 33/1 chance won.

Interesting runner in the 7.55.
Treaty of Rome. One of the Magnier gang spent £2,500,000 to buy it as a yearling then sold it for £3,000 when it looked to be useless.
Since then it's won 3 races and will like the soft ground having done its winning at Southwell.
Not saying it will win but worth seeing. It must look like a world beater.
