Alfie May...................the new Peter Kitchen
« on August 23, 2017, 01:31:24 am by Capmeister »
Knows where the onion bag is. Not yet as tricky as Kitch but the lad's hungry. Big shout for Johnny M. Led the line well tonight. Was praying Williams would put a shift in for 30mins but alas no!

I think Williams is now 4th in line behind Mandeville Marquis and Maye.

All about opinions, but i thought williams did everything but score, was everywhere, getting knock ons, putting passes through, chasing down every ball. Fergie appeared to agree to an extent as well..

I think Williams looked a bit off the pace and was carrying a bit of extra timber - as did Garrett....... they possibly both just need some game time.

I saw Williams in Greece on holiday. Not one ounce of fat on him.

Williams was ok after he came on and I believe he should be No3 in the pecking order. Mandeville needs a bit more time to sort his fitness out and the upcoming ressie games should help with that.

I like the suggestion of a likeness to the great Peter Kitchen, but I think Alfie is a slightly different player and more in the Kevin Keegan mould, all energy, hustle and bustle but a keen eye for goal. He does now seem to be a lot calmer in the box and isn't 'rushing' his shots. He could easily have had a hat-trick last night!

He reminds me more of the little remembered Paul Dobson from the mid 80's.

I too thought Williams did well last night.
He put himself about, chased everything and contributed much to the team.
He had two good efforts on goal, both well saved by the keeper.
Not bad to say he didn't put a shift in i suppose.

Alfie has done really well and deserves to be in the starting 11 on Saturday after his start to the season,he's certainly exceeded my expectations, but lets not get carried away it's only been a few games and to compare him with a great like Peter Kitchen is very premature...He still has a lot to learn and prove...Lets not put to much pressure on him...

The bigger defenders will knock him off the ball and he has no chance of winning much in the air, but like I told him when I met him last season "you're gunna be a guddun" and he will be, carrying on at this rate

They've got to catch him first. He's as slippery as a bar of soap, as elusive as a ferret up a drainpipe!

He'll make many more defenders look silly before the season's out.

He MAY even score on a bigger stage yet depending on the draw tonight. Is it written in the stars?

Dobson was a little stockier if I remember correctly!! Another good little footballer!!

Forgive me, but just realised that was Alfie's 4th goal, so doesn't that make it a Star Wars goal:

May, the Fourth!

I'll get mi coat :coat:

If you're good enough, you're good enough. Saying comparisons is heaping pressure on The Alf is misplaced simply because the better he does the greater the expectations will be. He'll deal with it or he won't, be good enough or he won't. It's just the way it is. As a supporter I'd die to stand in front of our Kop milking the accolades after banging one in. Wouldn't you? Alf is and can do it every week. Surely that's better than eeking out a living some other way. Surely.
