Couldn't beat him from 12 yards though!

He had a really good game as far as I'm concerned and having watched it back again don't think he could be blamed tonight.

I normally like to pick out every mistake he makes, that but that was a great performance from him, MOM not even close

He saved a penalty
And he pulled off 3 class saves in the last 5 mins, other than that he didn't have much to do
But he did it well

made 3 really good saves in the first half as well. His ones at 0-1 in the second were class though.

How can this bloke be criticised tonight?

Would've been a cricket score without him. I'm not even his biggest fan but he was outstanding.

If you've been sat at home reading the Press Association text commentary stuffing cheesy watsits in your gob might be best to pause for thought before targeting individual performances.

I agree , but as a team we're not learning from past experiences, our defence is wholly inexperienced and needs strengthening with players more capable of handling the situation and don't panic when the pressure is on .

Somebody on here saying we were comfortable and never in danger until injury time, now someone saying it could have been a cricket score. Were you at the same game?

It had 0-0 written all over it I though. Obviously they should have scored the penalty but after that it was very difficult for both sides to create any quality chances.

Are you serious? Lawlor pulled off half a dozen really good saves. They created a lot of chances that another team could have easily scored from.

If your idea of being comfortable is relying on your goalkeeper to make 6 or 7 quality saves, and having to haul one of your midfielders off before half time because the other team is having so much joy down one side, then yes we were comfortable.

I call it being under the cosh, but what do I know?

They had some half chances, but there definitely weren't a dozen of them.

The saves in the first half were just 20 yard strikes straight at him.
Any goalie would save them
Every game you play keepers have to make save.

The 2 or 3 near the end were very good saves.

His kicking also was very good

They barely troubled us until near the end, ridiculous penalty aside.

After watching the highlights, rather than the awful stream I watched last night, I take back my criticism, the goal was a freak

try looking at the rest of the team for not closing him out so he could not take the shot, they gave him far to much room.
For the second one no one covered the back post at all

Teams concede goals, full stop.
It happens.
All goals are preventable, especially with hindsight.
Our goal came about by errors in the Rochdale defence, no one marking Marquis for example and no one on the post that he scored inside.
The Dortmund keeper last night was beaten on the near post TWICE by Spurs players.
Kanes second goal went through a defenders legs.
If players at that level are doing stuff like that we can hardly expect our players not to do similar things.
Perspective needed lads.

I know all that I'm not complaining about anyone just I never blame a keeper unless the ball goes through his lags or it a s real blunder

I wasn't particularly aiming my post at you vicar.
It was more of a generalisation aimed at posters who constantly highlight individual errors by our players but fail to recognise that we may have scored at the other end after a similar mistake by an opponent.
When we smash one in from distance it is a great goal but not if we concede one.
When we score from a corner it is a great header / finish but when we let one in it is invariably because we didn't pick up the scorer or the keeper failed to dive six feet to his left and catch a shot hit from three yards away at 60mph.
PL players make the same mistakes, PL keepers let in similar goals and they get paid a lot more than L1 players.
