Shrewsbury barstewards town

Only team in top 4 divisions not to save been beaten todate,well not untill they have left the KMS after final whistle eh eh eh .

Seem to recall drawing shrewsbury town  in facup back in late 1970s at BV and it was a high scoring defeat I think 3-4 or something.
Then did we not get them in the facup the season  after aswell at their place > or is my mind

Infact that game at BV was it not a high scoring draw and rovers got done in the reply

That cup game I was on about at BV was a 2-2 draw and rovers lost reply 4-3 .then they lost to shrewsbury in facup two seasons on the bounce straight after in facup.

Sure rovers were div 4 and shrewsbury div3 back then.

All in the mid 1970s these games was.

The 4-3 defeat in the cup was the season after they beat us 7-4 in the league.

This has to be seen as season starter for us , as their current form and our  stuttering one , is what we are up against and good win would see a momentum grow with Bradford also in good form  sure . 3-1 would be good for starters .

1974 lost 1-3 to shrewsbury at league home game
1974 lost 7-4 in away league game to shrewsbury.

1975 drew 2-2 at BV and lost 4-3 in facup replay

1976 lost in facup to shrewsbury 0-1 at BV

1977 lost in facup to  shrewsbury 0-3 at BV

Let's hope rovers don't draw shrewsbury in facup this season eh.

For some reason I recall playing football for St. Peter's on the morning of that facup 1975 2-2 draw and going to the game and seeing BV after getting off 170 bus at the racecourse roundabout.

Then the dissapointment on hearing the 4-3 defeat replay score ,those two scores and fealings have never fully left as they seem to be stuck inside me like a stick of blackpool rock.
Think it was the magic/tragic of the facup.

Then I recall rovers getting shrewsbury out of the hat in 1976 and 1977 and thinking > not again and not again > I did not use swear words back then.
