South Stand

Was there any atmosphere in SS yesterday because I could only hear Oldham fans. Appreciate that acoustics don’t always give a true reflection

You sum it up there. The acoustics. I was in the south stand. Most of the game you could see the Oldham fans singing but not hear them.
Most modern stadia it echoes around the ground. Here you can hear everything in the car park

There wasn't much in the first half. Second was a big improvement but even then it wasn't particularly sustained periods. I've said it before, a lot of people just can't be arsed, then whine about it being shite.

I sit in the South area of the West stand and they sounded OK to me.
I could also hear the Oldham fans at times.

The game didn’t give either set of fans much to shout about in the first half.

You say that, but we've seen time and again they seem to react to it when there's a bit of a racket coming from behind the goal.

I totally agree RedJ.
Too often it is very quiet and too often the team is insipid.
Coincidence?

I think it's very much a chicken and egg situation. A lot don't really contribute (vocally, before anyone jumps down my throat) unless there's something to get excited about, but if there's nothing to get excited about, well, you get the picture. There's a small minority of very vocal people around the drum but even that seems to be diminishing year on year.

It will ebb and flow and reflect the performance on the pitch and the attendances in general. Nothing unusual.

We never really pushed the Black Bank thing with a view to keeping the team going come what may  ( similar to Palace ) - fans need that sense of belonging that we had at the beginning of the experiment.

It's definitely no coincidence that performances have dropped in line with vocal support and the disappearance of any identity .

Where are all those flags , scarves etc to get this area going again ? Perhaps it needs a re - branding .

Wes where are you ?

Who are the 4 people that set it up that apparently only 1 of them still goes. The other 3 got bored of Rovers or childish bickering?

not surprised if they got bored or life got in the way; it can be hard to keep on with such a big project on a long term basis
