injuries??
« on December 28, 2017, 10:14:13 am by adamtherover »
i keep hearing fergie going on about 9 players injured?.  does anyone know who they are?   ive looked at the squad and can maybe see  4.    williams, Danny Andew, LUKE McCULLOUGH &  ALEX KIWOMYA .   Is he on about junior players?.   Etheridge being out surely doesnt count.    Sounds like a bit of smoke and mirrors really?

I have often posted that we need some kind of Injury Spreadsheet so we know who is injured - when they were injured - length of injury (estimate) - and then what stage of their recovery they are.

I cant see why we would want to be secretive unless it was close to a player being fit in a game or two and we wanted to keep the opposition "in the dark"

I found at the time a Fantasy Football Site where those with Teams could check on the injury Status of their proposed Players and was looking at it only 2 days ago

I will find it out

This is what I posted about a year ago. Just scroll down to see the lot Arsenal have 4 in there and 2 have just happened so really up to date. Cant believe we could not do this either "as a Club" or US as a Forum using any intel we could get as this one is a bit short of info in Column 2 !!!

Agree but in the Premier League the people who "play" Fantasy Football like to know who is injured and for how long and there are loads of things like this available

http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php#c2

I am not advocating one way or another just that very simply "we" could get intelligence from the Club and Local press even "inside" information and have one resource so we don't have 4 threads on Danny's toe and even worse still the squabbling and p*** taking re who posted what and when

What about Williams . We have not prepared this season to cover for this and loan market hadn’t helped with its restrictions. Lessens have to be learned for next season or we’re just not going to improve. Loans help teams like us on tight budgets but you’ve got secure them early or your stuck  with dross that  don’t fit into a system or just too young !

Toffolo

It was 9 at one point but some have come back, he’s not claiming it’s 9 now.

I think you can add Etheridge to that list, although I thought he would be fit by now. Copps was on the injured list a week ago, as was Blair, so that probably cuts the list by two.

Worth noting that we also spent significant spells without Houghton, Baudry and May.

Perhaps I’ve just not been listening, but I’ve not heard Fergie “keep going on about it.”

I am surprised one our our DF lovers hasn’t been on here complaining about a poster having a dig at Ferguson.

Oh, maybe because I didn’t write it.

As we are paying Etheridge and him being here stops another coming in you have to count him

The 9 injured was before the Bristol Rovers match. The 4 above + Alcock, Houghton, Whiteman, Toffolo & Coppinger.
Only Toffolo of these 5 remains injured and has gone back to Norwich.

I'm sure they will try to offload him, either permanently or on loan, once he's fit.

Sheff U player just been rebuked by the club for giving away 'sensitive' info on Twitter .. the lad put up a photo of himself looking very ill with tonsilitis , alerting the opposition to the fact  he would not line up against Bolton this weekend .

Given that Ferguson clearly is no major fan of Williams, and that McCullough is unlikely to start ahead of Butler, Baudry or Wright, or at bottom of diamond ahead of Houghton or Whiteman, then the only player we know for definite would start is Andrew. Our man Kiwomya could be world. Enter or could be the next Lewis Guy, as we never had him, we can’t say we are missing him. So Andrew is the only first team player who would definitely make the XI. Others offer cover and depth I would think fair to say.

All well and good to say that but some on here have been saying McCullough would make a difference to the squad. Personally, there isn't a place for him to fill right now but what is worrying is he was supposed to be back with the squad roughly the same time as Baudry and we haven't heard an update since. Is LM actually back training, even?

Here you go Alan..

DFP website today...

https://www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk/sport/football/doncaster-rovers/doncaster-rovers-darren-ferguson-reveals-when-alex-kiwomya-and-luke-mccullough-could-be-back-in-action-1-8928462

McCullough could be back in February, but we have got to be very careful with him.
He was coming back in October with Baudry.
He was running in November.
I hope I’m wrong but I believe we won’t see him this season.
I hope like Kiwomya we do not rely on them coming back so we do not get new players.

If you remember, Steve, DF himself said that the Kiwomya situation did not affect his plans for January. Of course, it could be it's not being affected because he was never, ever going to sign another forward/striker anyway!

Good to hear some positive news on injuries for a change. Both lads must be getting revved up to get back playing again - just to be back training will have been a massive boost to Alex.
