The Scunthorpe Game

Hi Guys,

Just to let you know The Jolly Sailor at Gunness has now reopened, so if you fancy a pint before the game in a couple of weeks why not call in, the pub is run by Donny people and is a five minute walk from Althorpe Station

You're right vicar but you can still call for a pint if you're in the car the jolly sailor is only about 5 mins from ground by car..

... or get off at Althorpe as the op suggests then a 5 Min walk to Jolly Sailor

After a pint or two yomp along Gunness Straight and watch us regain the full "bragging rights"

It is 2 miles from Althorpe Station and 2.1 miles for Scunny Main Station so a bit shorter and Jolly Sailor on way from Althorpe - roght on 90 degree bend below Gunness village on map

not necessarily..

"UPDATE 21/1/18

With Rovers close to selling out an increased allocation, the home club will now put on a cash turnstile allowing travelling supporters to pay on the gate, but there is a £3 increase in matchday prices.

Once Rovers' allocation is sold out, supporters wishing to avoid the increase in price are advised to call Scunthorpe United directly on 01724 747670."

£26 to pay on the night, local derby or not that's bloody expensive for our level!

That's dearer than or at least on par with I'd say a fair few Championship clubs, I'd guess. With much better grounds.

I wouldn't mind standing on the terrace - just not at £26 a pop.

Cheaper.

Bolton was £35 a few weeks back, Blades are £30 on the Kop, Leeds is £39 in the East Stand to name just a few.

Scandalous.

Clubs in our league now are charging what Championship clubs were more or less charging 10 years ago. If it keeps going the same way, it'll be £30+ in League One in 10 years from now.

That is a disgrace. I know it's been a few years since we were in that division but West Ham (discounting Leeds, who charge ridiculous prices anyway) were the most expensive ticket I bought at that level for £32.

It's insane to think that an away ticket in the Premier League is cheaper than going to a shithole like Glanford Park!

First season in championship, away at Ipswich. Ticket price £27.50; walk up price £30.50.
I remember being most irritated by the 50p meaning I was chucking 2 x £20 notes over the counter.
The 3-1 win softened the blow.

I remember that silly price, I’m sure we played there after that and it was £35 as well.
