I've sourced the list of players by their total apps since returning to the Football League, so can continue the fun of this thread for a little longer (extending it to players with 20 apps or less).

Here's a guy who was good in pre-season and pretty useless when he got his contract. Who is he?

I have to say I thought of him when watching Garratt's antics in the first half last Saturday. Thankfully Garratt did get better. Nerves, maybe.

I say this slightly tongue in cheek but those seasons in League One before Penney got boot were full of some real odds and sods (Offiong, Griffith, Di Piedi, Priet, the Serb guy) but we were always comfortably mid-table or better - basically, why are we struggling now? Interested in thoughts.

That first season in League One after we went straight up (as champions) we finished tenth and five points off play offs. It was largely same team as previous season but with addition of Copps. There was no Heffernan that season. Our top scorer only just made double figures (Macca) and Blundell went through a major goal drought before eventually ending with nine. That was a very good season given squad and level we were playing at.

From memory, in the 2004/05 season we only lost 12 league games in total which isn't bad at all considering we were pretty useless away from home between August and October - losing 5 out of 6 games.

It was a combination of that poor early form on the road and too many draws at Belle Vue, of which there were numerous, that stopped us from seriously competing for the play-offs. Instead, we were always lingering 5-10 points off the pace.

Anyway, Nic Priet is correct. Somehow, he made 10 appearances.

Next up, a player who only made nine appearances due to 'family events'...

If we had by some miracle gone up that season we would have been brutalised in the Championship. That was essentially a non-League pub tram genuinely having a laugh but needed rebuilding to even stay in League One the next season. Fair play to them lads though for propelling us that far.
