The officials
« on January 13, 2018, 05:48:47 pm by anne honemous »
You can't accuse them of favouring the home side today.

Three times they made the wrong decision which benefitted Plymouth...

1) Around the hour mark when we should have had a blatant corner, but instead the lino and referee conspired to give them a goal-kick.

2) Around five minutes to go when their player made a blatant push yet they got a free-kick, which they took quickly and nearly scored from but Lawlor made a save with his legs.

3) In stoppage time for 'the penalty' which wasn't given yet was absolutely blatant.

A draw was the fair result on the balance of the game and without these poor decisions Plymouth looked a very useful side.

But come on officials. Do your job properly!

Oh and I've just remembered the push on Butler for the goal.

Is it that hard to get decisions right, or do some officials just make it hard for themselves?

Two out of three ain’t bad, as they say Anne.
On point one the ref got it right, the ball came off Blair last so a goal kick was the correct decision.

Otherwise you are right.

Did anyone hear Fergies post match interview on Radio Sheffield? I was bent over laughing.

He went for it didn't he, wouldn't surprised to see him get charged. At one stage he actually responded to being asked what to do about the officials with "shoot them"!

Don't blame him either, it was another beyond hopeless display from the men in black today.

And yes, that one was a goal kick as it ricocheted out off of Blair's arm.

Didn't see that from where I sat - looked a blatant corner but I'm glad the referee got one decision right.

Yeah it was purely unlucky for Blair, he kicked it, it hit their defender then bounced up off Blair's arm just before the byline.

As Ferguson alluded to though, these officials will get another game next weekend, we might get an apology for us not getting the pen and for their goal being allowed to stand but we won’t get the extra two points.

We weren’t shite though were we.
First half we were very good and worth our lead.
Second half, Plymouth changed the way they played and matched us.

No we were poor 2nd half we switched off and allowed Plymouth to launch balls forward at will from all angles like exsorcet misciles
Pleased I don’t have to watch them every week.
But our switch off in the 2nd half does not excuse that shambles of a performance from the officials.
Unfortunately I was correct about the ref this week. Mr Haines is not competent and I am not surprised DF ‘lost it’ on radio Sheffield.
2 weeks on the trot is too much for most managers. Don’t know how he kept so dignified last week to be honest.

I thought Plymouth were 60-40 the better side and created a few good opportunities but they seemed to lack a bit of presence up top otherwise they'd have won.

However, we squandered chances - such as Marquis' one on one, the one across the six yard box with nobody there and another where Blair (I think) didn't look up in the second half and play a cross to Marquis when he was in acres of space towards the back post on the edge of the six yard box.

A draw was probably a fair result.

It doesn't mean the referee was any good though!

Game of 2 halves, us shading the first. Fergie did not respond well to their change of tactics second half.

We could have lost it, but if the ref had got any balls, we could have won it ourselves at the death. That is 2 weeks running I have witnessed really awful refereeing decisions go against us.

Who is this pillock?? 1st half we were by far the better team, 2nd half fair enough Plymouth perhaps were the better team but scored from a goal that should have been disallowed and we had a penalty not given that was stonewall. Please give me a different.... what will obviously be a negative description of the game?

One thing I did like from the ref yesterday was the way he reffed pushes and pulls, just told them to get on it with. For both sides.

And yet you’re against VAR

I am until they find a way to properly implement it without stopping the game and then taking two minutes to make a decision.

VAR needs to be a near instant thing as is goal line technology.
