Alcock

To say he’s not played for a while and was probably accepting his fate at the club, the guy has put in some performance tonight. For most of the night he looked like the only player on the pitch who knew anything about defending.

I’m not saying he’s the answer but players like him are useful in the squad and tonight he’s definitely played his way back in to contention.

Well played in a difficult situation.

Wright was outstanding, every time it looked like they were going to score he appeared from nowhere and blocked the shot or got the last ditch tackle in.

Second half he was a lot better. First half, especially the opening spell, he looked really shaky and a bit lost without Butler.

Grew into it though but think Alcock helped with that. Seemed to calm him down a little. Wright did seem a bit erratic early on. The mistake for the goal was coming, there had been a few poor backpasses before that too.
