Anybody else hear it last night they had Keith Hackett on really interesting he also said DF was right the refs are crap and he can understand Fergie throwing one as the 2 previous games we should have had penalties

Whilst Keith Hackett is correct (If he did say that) the bigger problem however is the two people who run up and down the line and occasionally give offsides and throw ins.
Why are they called "assistant referees" when they are either not allowed to or refuse to make decisions even when the incident happens under their noses. The obvious penalty that should have been given for Copps in the Plymouth game being a prime example.

Dagenham
I listen in most nights and regularly contribute. Yes it was fascinating listening to him being very supportive of Darren and how the officials had missed two pens.
He is also of the opinion to get rid of fourth offficials and that way we have more referees on the pitch rather than off it.

That’s what I have been saying on several posts on here. Assistant referees What a joke!!!

I remember speaking to a ref at a pre season friendly a few years ago (my son was mascot) and he said that the penalty area was his, i.e. he made the decisions in there and the assistant refs were instructed not to (by him) if that is a regular practice it may explain some of the dross from the guys running the lines

You only have to watch them when the ball goes out, they generally wait for a signal from the ref before they flag who gets the throw. And on that front, how can they tell who's throw it is when they're not allowed past the halfway line? 4 linos?

See, I've noticed they seem to give a 'soft signal' (anyone who watches cricket will know what I mean, they have a flag in the hand they think it should be given to) and then either raise the flag or swap hands and flag. Not sure if that's an actual thing or just something I've decided happens.

The ref usually tells the Lino which way by pointing on the sly

The player who scored their third today shouldn't have been on the pitch if the linesman had told the ref about him manhandling our player behind the refs back barely 10 seconds after being booked. The linesman was watching and didn't say anything to the ref.

Hi BF

That was a prime example as was the massive shove on Wright at Scunny

There were other examples today including their Number 9 barging Lawlor twice as he tried to get the ball upfield - and the Muppet on the East Stand side should have flagged

Then Number 9 (again) clogging Alcock - should have resulted in a "what did you see" conversation between Waldorf and Stattler at the very least as should the handbags immediately after that incident again with our "pal" Number 9 again

I can only imagine that the Refs think they can make all the big decisions leaving the Linos out of it - well I have news for them THEY CANT !

Never mind the Refs Assessor will have given each Muppet well over the average score required to keep them in a job

It should be set in stone that linos have to raise their flag if they see something, never mind what the ref says before the game.
